Anybody know of a way to log CPU & hard drive activity on Windows? This is a trivial task in UNIX or Linux, but I have no idea how to do it on Windows (XP Pro, SP2). It would be a lot easier to track down the problem that way - I could compare date/time stamps of the video --> CPU/Hard drive activity.

You might take a look at the winternals site they have a lot of free utilities in that area. Process-explorer is a very good taskmanager replacement.

Sorry to bring an old thread back up....but i've been having this same issue since last year, never found anyone else who had it till now. Any updates on this? This is happening to me on a dedicated box (no programs installed except gbpvr, nothing else running).

I had a new drive that I was recording to - it ended up flaking out on me and I got Seagate to replace it (it was only 1 1/2 months old). The problem went away after I replaced the drive.
