Yes, on a channel change there should be an entry similar to this:
Code:
02:52:20   0: CHDHomeRunTuner::CommitChangesGetChannelProgram: requested frequency = 57000000
02:52:20   0: CHDHomeRunTuner::CommitChangesGetChannelProgram: using remap line: 11-1 2 qam256:507000000 102:52:20   0: CHDHomeRunTuner::CommitChangesSetChannel: Set channel: qam256:507000000
02:52:20  16: CHDHomeRunTuner::CommitChangesSetProgram: Set program: 1 pmt_dc2_to_mpeg2 tvct_from_pmt=11.1
02:52:20   0: CHDHomeRunTunerOutput::ContinueStreaming: Channel changed - flushing buffer
02:52:21 406: CHDHomeRunTuner::GetNodeTypes
02:52:21   0: CHDHomeRunTuner::GetNodeInterfaces 0
02:52:21   0: CHDHomeRunTuner::GetControlNode(0, 1, 0)
02:52:21   0: CHDHomeRunTuner::GetTunerStatus: ch=qam256:507000000 lock=qam256 ss=97 snq=90 seq=100
02:52:21   0: CHDHomeRunTuner::get_SignalStrength = 97
02:52:21   0: CHDHomeRunTuner::get_SignalQuality = 90
02:52:21   0: CHDHomeRunTuner::get_SignalLocked = 1
02:52:21   0: CHDHomeRunTuner::get_SignalPresent = 1
02:52:21   0: CHDHomeRunTuner::GetNodeInterfaces 1
02:52:23 1985: CHDHomeRunTuner::StartChanges
02:52:23   0: CHDHomeRunTuner::CommitChanges

Laserfan's logs seem to indicate the HDHR was only responding to tuner status requests.

Thats what I thought also, and is why I wanted to get a matching set of log files from him. Otherwise we cant really tell if we're looking at the same thing.

sub Wrote:Laserfan, do what whurlston recommends. After the scan though, can you post the config.exe.log, config.exe-native.log and the c:\hdhomerun_bda.log? I'd like to see a set of all three from the same scan so that I can compare times.
The times are there in the bda.log--they are just toward the bottom.

I have done the Uninstall thing before, but I will try it again...

Ah right you are about the logs. My mistake.

I'm suspecting its some bug in the HDHomeRun BDA drivers. The GB-PVR logs indicate its submitting tuning requests, and no sign of any errors being returned, but the HDHomeRun drivers logs are showing no signs of changing frequency.

The funny thing though, is why is it working for the other HDHomeRun owners but not you? Are you using a different version of the drivers?

There actually are a couple others who have the same problem (there's an open thread on Silicondust here which is unresolved). I even tried installing to another PC on my network (a P3) with the same result.

I dunno; because I have you guys looking, I just did (again) a complete uninstall/erase/delete/clearRegistry/thewholeworks and then Reinstall with your 99.12 and jafa's 0301 latest before trying yet again:

1. Launched HDHR's Manager to see that BDA was installed, and HDHR's Config just to verify firmware rev of HDHR.

2. Launched GB-PVR Config and scan yielded "no channels found"

3. Opened HDHR GUI again and tuned a couple channels (they were there of course) stopping at KVUE physical 33

4. Launched GB-PVR Config again and this time it tuned KVUE 69 times (takes a while!). Same (bad) result.

Here are your and HDHR's logs from this pristine install. Hope you & whurlston have some ideas--I'm sure there's a bug somewhere, maybe a conflict EXCEPT that like I said I tried to install to another PC w/same result!!???

Note: I DID once try selecting your 'BDA Advanced Settings' "Ignore PMT CRC errors during scan" and the scan result was different in that fewer channels appeared (fewer than the whole 2-69 as now) but still just one channel.

What is most bizarre to me is that GB-PVR reliably tunes the one channel HDHR GUI last tuned--not sure why there should be any connection between the two...

Hope you can look at these logs again please-! :o

I've emailed detailed description of the problem off to the HDHomeRun guy to ask him for more info. Hopefully he'll be able to think of something.

I'm fairly sure its some bug in the HDHomeRun drivers though, given GB-PVR treats all BDA devices the same, but the error is only occuring on the HDHomeRun.

I have looked at that thread a few times. The two guys that did have the problem, seemed to have solved the scanning problems themselves and somehow got it going.

Its interesting to note that the guy (stemark) that reported this problem in that thread also had the exact same problem with MediaPortal, which also backs up the thinking that it's an HDHomeRun driver bug.

Actually I think there was just one guy stemark in the dust thread that had the problem, and he has not reappeared. Prolly found another program to use...

I don't doubt a bug in hdhr; I've been thinking "another BDA filter in my PC causing a conflict" but so far nothing (turning things off one-by-one now).

Hopefully whurlston & jafa will have some ideas for me, thanks! Smile

Re-read the thread, he did get past this scanning problem by reinstalling Windows.

You're right of course--I did look again and made a post there re: my oversight.

Hunting for a possible KBB I might have missed--I do not wish to re-install windows on this machine!! :eek:

I got a response back from the Nick, but not too much detail in it I'm afraid.
