Hi Stefan

I have also noticed that if you go into the database and look at the record source assignments for future recordings (under the record schedule table)you can change them to record the way you want which is another work around

Probably not. But hey if the bridge is down, you just have to find another way to cross the river

It doesnt sometime choose to ignore those assignments in the database though, and record on another tuner.

Hi all

Sub, are you implying that even though it has made assignments in the record schedule it ignores those at record time?. I noticed this morning after the system did its 4am EPG update that it had reset all the capture source assignments including the ones I had edited.

However, sub, it reset them all to capture source 1 so consequently ignoring that there were other sources available even with obviously conflicting recordings. At this stage I have alternat set to true and trytohonour padding to true. So maybe its back to manual scheduling with overlapping times.

This is starting to become a frustration for me and I am not going to let it go as in terms of my needs it is the only weak point in an otherwise very good programme.

Regards
Wayne

It can under a few circumstances relating. For example if the tuner is in use with live tv, or if <TryToHonourPaddingIfPossible> is set to true and the tuner is about to do the post padding from the previous recording.

When an EPG update occurs, the season recordings are dropped and recreated on the off chance the show times have changed.

<PreferAlternatingCaptureSources> is applied at scheduling time. <TryToHonourPaddingIfPossible> is applied at recording time.

In my experience (and testing), <PreferAlternatingCaptureSources> does what you're looking for, but the multiple capture sources you have must refer to the exact same channels (ie, not the same channel but different spelling, or not manually created channels).

Noted Thanks

Thnaks Sub. All the cards are looking at the same DVB-S stream (Freeview on Optus D1) so should have pulled in all the same channel names. However is there someway in the config That I have missed to tell all the cards to use the one source of tuning and EPG information.

What EPG option are you using on your capture source, DVB EPG, or XMLTV, or none?

I'm out of the office today though, so probably wont answer until tomorrow.

Its correct that it'd be setup on each of the sources.

Reproduce the problem, then zip and email your gbpvr.db3 and logs to me at support@devnz.com. Include some comments about what shows you scheduled to reproduce this.
