The recording that resumed also caused a crash when it finished just this minute. The simultaneous analogue recording did not. The contents of the various recorded parts are fine so it would appear that the card is working fine and is correctly tuned. Indeed, this setup has been working flawlessly for several months. The only major change that happened recently was Microsoft patch Tuesday (13th March). Another thing that may influence it might be Daemon Tools as the first crash happened a few seconds after I exited that. Anyway logs for second crash.

For immediate relief, you can set <BDAUsePsiParser>false</BDAUsePsiParser> in config.xml. You'd need to remember to reenable it if you need to scan for channels in future. You also need to know that this "false" option is incompatible with the DVB EPG option.

I would ideally like to know the cause, rather than having to use this setting, but I'm not able to look into right at the moment.

Thanks for fix.

I wont use it just yet because I was looking through my Services and noticed that an anti-spyware program I had downloaded (AVG Anti-Spyware) and run recently was running a Guard.exe service even though I had told it not to. I have disabled it.

Guess that anti-spyware service wasn't having any effect. Recording service just crashed when I loaded a YouTube video via my browser.

Guess I will implement that config change. Thanks.

hmm, that doesnt really sounds related to the errors mentioned above. The PsiParser.ax crash you're getting would only occur while you're watching live tv or recordings, and is saying it encountered some unexpected data in the stream (coming form the capture device) which ultimately lead to the crash.

Bump as requested.

Also, attached are an error log for a failed recording but it is not the same error. The recording was Bound and the error is in the GBPVRRecordingService.exe.log:

Did <BDAUsePsiParser>false</BDAUsePsiParser> stop your other crashes?

This crash in the post immediately above is because it tries to start recording on a channel with no digital tuning request. It was expecting a big long string like "T:C44,658000,0,0,8~P:8262~V:512~A:650~L:eng~PMT:256~N:>ITV1" but instead got an empty string "". I'm not really sure why this would be. Makes me think the channel isnt mapped correctly one of your capture sources.

Mister Slimm,

Have your crashes stopped? I've got exactly the same problem. Recording services crashes and re-starts almost every time I record something on BBC3.

Sometimes same error as yours and sometimes slightly different. Always psiparser.ax Everything I've tried doesn't change it. I'm running Hauppauge Nova-t 500 dual digital on a dedicated Windows XP box feeding 3 x MVPs.

Everything patvhed up to date.

It's driving me NUTS!!!
