have a look here:

http://forums.sage.tv/forums/showthread....stcount=12

generally you need to find the device id's from device manager (details tab, and 'device instance path') and use DEVCON to stop both, and restart in the order that works for you.

Worked for me, hope it does for you! Big Grin

The devcon seems to be working OK. Only issue now is that the remote occasionally will just stop working. I am forced to run the .bat file again or reboot the computer.

Did you ever have this issue?

I bought my PVR-250 on ebay. I am wondering if it is simply screwed up.

Per some other forum suggested but Hauppauge support I disabled the PVR-250 in device management. Immediately after disabling and doing a reboot the remote started working again.

I then enabled the PVR-250 and it still works. I have not rebooted the machine yet so I don't know what will happen next. In the meantime everything is working as it should.

Hope this can help some other poor soul out there.

I hope it works for you, I will be following closely in your footsteps as my 2nd pvr-150 will be arriving either today or monday. *crosses fingers*

Is the blaster affected too? I have to have two working blasters to control the directv receivers...

I'm thinking I am going to need a USB-UIRT possibly...looks like a neat device. Does GBPVR control the USBIRT without any additional software other than the included driver?

Yeah, i had the same issue. I had a PVR-350 which was also prone to lock-up's too so i got rid of it as soon as i could afford to!

My advice would be to get a USB-UIRT also... it works very well as a reciever, and can double as a blaster too. (i got a new TV and its remote conflicted with Haups - forcing the need for the USB-UIRT)

Ok, I will now perform the voodoo ritual dance over the new pvr-150 before installing it. Big Grin

Any new update to this problem? I added a HVR-1600 to my PVR150. The remote either stops working immediately or works for a few minutes then stops.

There are times when I do re-installs of the remote control software or try to active the cards in random order and do get the remote to work. Unfortunately this success is short lived because I have the system go into hibernate. It usually stops working after it wakes up.

Hope to hear if someone has found a permanent solution.

I have not had any luck at all. Mine work after a reboot but stops after a few minutes. I plan on changing to a different type of remote but simply have not had time to do so.

I have written an autoit script that (amongst) other things, monitors to see if ir.exe is running and restarts it is required. seems to work fine.

http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=25751

It also kills are restarts ir.exe after standy (not sure about hibernate) as ir.exe definately cannot handle the wake up. I suspect that this is because the device is not yet ready.

FYI: This thread gives some details on how ir.exe uses the registry to identify which device to bind to. You will have to do hack around to find the details for your specific device(s)
