The nightly build seemed to be the most stable I could find, I tried 0.3.3 as well, is there another dongle that you refer to as Alpha?

From the mpvmc sub forum, here is more information on the various downloads. I just assumed most people trying mvpmc read that forum as well.

One day I expect that the mvpmc nightly will be the place to pick up the most stable code but right now because of issues I'm having with the Hauppauge server I can't build the code.

It can't be an inherent problem as my system is pretty stable now. Tell us about your network incl firewall settings. I use Vista firewall with GBPVR and GBPVR Recording Svc allowed as exceptions.

I agree with Lindsay. As for Vista firewall I have two entries for inbound and they allow tcp and udp for the gbpvr.exe executable which were added by the install setup and I don't have any entries for the recording service.

Lindsay BTW for the inset video problem you've been having I did notice some problems when I tried the updated GBPVRBackendCommon.dll, but I didn't dig too deep.

I have disable the firewall for simplicity, the regular dongle's just lose connectivity as per the logs. BUT the MVPMC Alpha dongle works great! Could it be anything else?

That's interesting, Martin. I have updated mine with every patch put out. Mmmm, wonder how best to retrieve and try the original? Overwriting with no backup shows my confidence in subSmile (grease, grease).

Good that you have a solution but still peculiar that the std dongle won't work.

Do you have insetvideo on or off?

Hit the menu key while video or livetv is playing and have fun! I don't have any problems with this and Vista, Lindsay on the other hand hasn't had success.
