My wife handles all her own recordings through the MVP and thankfully 'the magic box' is pretty stable so it's rare anything fails.

I'm not sure there's anything currently that she'd be too bothered about if it didn't record, although the recent second series of 'Life on Mars' would've caused some upset if it hadn't recorded (for me too).

We're big on Doctor Who in our house so that would be a real downer if it didn't record. We could pretty much guarantee to find a friend that had recorded it though, even if it was on one of those old-fashioned VCR things. Smile

Cheers,
Brian

Whats funny is that I've still got a VCR sitting in the cabnet under the TV. Its probably at least three years since I put a tape in it.

Mine its all house/real estate shows for my wife.

No too many problems with the recordings, more someone watched something at a different time to the other and deletes it....

And unlike sub, the VCRs (2) are banished to the spare room, soon to be sold!!

My VCR is the "Tape chewer". We use it so infrequently, we forget it until my wife brings home a free kids tape from the library, and we have to buy them a new one now and then. Not worth buying a new one, not ready to toss out just yet. It is hooked up to a 27" tv with one coaxial connection and one set of RCA jacks. The coax connetion tunner is shot, so our VCR acts like a cable box for that tv.

more about me then most care to know, I know that, and that is the first step.....

She's still mad at me for tossing the VCR. Still asks me if the shows are on tape.:o Three tuners, GBPVR, 500G hard drive, and its somehow not as good as the ol VCR. Well to be honest the Fusion software had a part in that attitude:mad:

We still use ours occasionally - as I said it's good for when we miss a show and have to borrow a tape from a friend. We also have a whole load of pre-recorded stuff on VHS which occasionally gets dusted off for nostalgia's sake.

The second and final series as you actually find out what really happened to Sam Tyler. I'll say no more. Big Grin

"Smallville" is another show I was a big fan of for a while but gave up on.

Turned into too much of a teen soap opera.

Anyone watching "Eco Challenge" from New Zealand? Really stunning scenery (and crazy weather).
