It is a shame there is no capability to play back ripped DVD's via the MPV using one of the DVD player software packages that you mention here as a decoder. Is this even possible, and is it functionality that is on the to-do list?

cheers

It wont be done in the near future. This task wouldn't be easy, and would probably consume a huge amount of time.

First, it's very nice that you can set the recording quality now!

But I'm having some trouble with the dvd player... When I try to play a dvd from my dvd-drive I get picture but no sound, I have tried two dvd's (one dolby digital and one with pcm audio) they both play fine in Power DVD.

Have you tried explicitly setting the DVD playback decoder in the config app? On my machine if I leave it set to default, the operating system tries to use the Elecard MPEG2 decoder, which doesn't support DVDs. If I explicitly set it to the Cyberlink or Intervideo decoders then I have no problems.

Yep, right now it's set to the CyberLink codec, but I also tried the MainConcept codec.. Same result, picture but no sound. On one of the dvd's (the big lebowski) you can select diffirent audio streams in the menu, but it doesn't change anything (the subtitles works though).

Are you trying to play the DVD from the hard drive or a DVD rom drive?

Hi Sub,

I have the exact same problem here, I have done all the same tests as nkh but can't get sound when using gbpvr dvd player. I am using PowerDVD decoder (Cyberlink Video/SP Decoder)

Like it how you can use DVDProfiler files now by the way. Very Useful thanks
