as the tvguide.

how do I go back.....

last time I saved those file you recommend to back up the
database was before the 1.0.0.8 update.

To go back to the old database, just edit config.xml and set the following three settings to:

Code:
<DatabaseConnectionString>Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=".\gbpvr.mdb";User Id=admin;Password=</DatabaseConnectionString>
  <DatabaseProviderFactory>System.Data.OleDb.OleDbFactory</DatabaseProviderFactory>
  <DatabaseIdentityQuery>select @@identity</DatabaseIdentityQuery>

If you want to zip and email your mdb file to me, I'm happy to try the conversion for you. If you want to do this, let me know and I'll PM you my email address.

I tried what you suggested but it didn't work.
The conversion stated it was successful when I tried to convert
to the SQL in the 1st place so I'm not sure what happen.

Anything else I can try to go back?

Edit the settings will absolutely get it back to the old database. The old database is also not changed during ChangeDatabase, so no damage will have been done.

What problem makes you think it didnt work? Zip and attach the logs and your config.xml and I'll take a look.

Also, I'd like to send my config.xml but it won't
let me attach it.....
Zip and attach all the log files and the config.xml into the one zip file.

A couple of things from your logs:

Quote:2007-08-07 14:35:18.796 WARNING [1] Unexpected error in UpgradeManager.CheckForUpgrade(): System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the registry key 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\devnz' is denied.
Are you trying to run GB-PVR from some sort of limited account?

Quote:2007-08-08 17:15:08.437 VERBOSE [1] getValue() loading new key/value into cache: /settings/DatabaseConnectionString
2007-08-08 17:15:08.437 VERBOSE [1] getValue: /settings/DatabaseConnectionString : Data Source=".\gbpvr.db3";Version=3;New=True;
You most recent attempt run PVRX2 shows you havnt correctly changed the settings back. Did you try to run the application after changing the settings I suggested above? It doesnt look like it.

Well, I usually run myself as a limited User but when I change things,
I will log out and then into the Admin account. While in the Admin
account I give my Limited User Admin rights then log in as that limited
user with all the rights and make the changes or upgrades.
I then start the program with the Limited User to make sure everything
worked. After this, I log out and back into admin where I take the rights
away.... I've been doing this for a long time and everything always
works.

As far as the changes yes..... I changed the config.xml as you
stated then I restarted the service and tryed to run it.

It ended up doing the same thing...... should I not have restarted the
service.

I can tell you absolutely still had the gbpvr.db3 settings in the config.xml those last times you ran PVRX2.exe rather than the gbpvr.mdb settings I suggested. The logs showed these old settings as they were loaded from the config file.

If you've got VNC or Remote Desktop on your machine, I'm happy to connect and sort it out for you.
