EDIT 2: OK! Some success... I set it to "analog recording source", picked the 1600 from the list, chose "SVIDEO - External Tuner" as the source and now it works (i just can't record high def I guess), but the channel changer isn't working. I don't see the Hauppauge IR Blaster as one of the listed choices. What IR Blaster do I use?!?
-------------------------------------------------------------------
I have a GBPVR box (it was running 1.4.2 or some version around there) and had a Hauppauge PVR-150 capture card. It's been running for a number of years with various versions of GBPVR. Today I finally got into the modern age and bought a high def TV. This of course meant I had to get a cable box that supports high def. I figured since I now had HD capabilities I should upgrade my capture card so that I could record in HD (plus my PVR-150 had problems changing channels so I was using the serial port, but the new cable box doesn't have a serial port I can use). So I uninstalled the PVR-150 and installed a Hauppauge PVR-1600.
I installed the drivers for the card and verified Windows sees it. I then hooked everything up. The cable box I have (Motorola DCX3200) has HDMI, Composite, RCA, and SVideo out. The HDMI is hooked up to the TV, so I opted to use the SVideo for the link to the GBPVR PC since the PVR-1600 has an SVideo input. I tested this setup with WinTV 7 (it came with the PVR-1600) and it worked fine (aside from having to manually set the input to NTSC-443 so it wasn't in black and white). So then I went to GBPVR configuration and deleted my old capture source and then added a new one for the PVR-1600. I chose "Digital Recording Plugin" for the recording source and it found 3 adapters it could use (1500MCE, 1600 ATSC, and 1600 QAM). I picked the 1600 ATSC and then configured the EPG source (xmltv plugin) and then updated the EPG. It found all of the channels it should have. I then selected "Enable All" and every channel was checked. I clicked OK to save and tried to check it all worked by going into PVRX2 and choosing "Watch Live TV", but nothing happened. When I checked the log it said there were no channels configured. I went back to the configuration page and none of the channels were checked! Nothing I do will get it to enable the channels.
I then tried upgrading to the latest version of GBPVR and I have the same result. I can't tell it to use any channels and so I can't use any of the recording features of GBPVR! Does anyone have ANY idea what's going on? I have attached the recent logs from the log directory.
Help!
EDIT: I also tried adding a high def analog recording source and picking SVideo as the input source. The only option for a card was WinTV HD-PVR and when I tried to test PVRX2 with that recording source it gave me an error in the logs about null reference or some similar error. I guess the big question here then is "How do I make GBPVR work with my HVR-1600 using SVideo Input?"
