owell martin it fixed my bad dvb recordings personally there is something up with dvb recording side of gbpvr (tried 2 different dvb tuners same result )as i can record fine with the software that came with the card but as soon as i try with dbpvr i get glitches im using the 1307 mux which is recomended and it was still crap
what else does having the recording service set higher affect ?
im after a better solution if there is one

I was really talking about making sure that it is disabled when it doesn't do anything, it is not a good default. I don't recommend it for pvrx2.exe or gbpvr.exe serving the mvp, since serving a file takes almost no resources and there should be plenty of power on the minimum machine.

It affects everything on your box while recording and adds a few cycles when its not but I can't offer a
solution for everyone especially if you like to actually use the PC that acts as the server. Likely for best performance on lower powered machines record everything in transport stream or with the ms mux, and watch recorded shows not live tv. If you've got a fast machine try and find out what is taking power from gvbpvr.

Martin.

Comskip is known to use little resources (if needed) in low priority-mode, however it might still generate quite some disktraffic.
