Quote:BDA driver standard does not include:
1) diseqc support
2) any modulations other then QPSK
Thats no excuse. He should still make BDA drivers. "diseqc" is a perfect example. The lack of diseqc support in the BDA specification hasnt stopped every other manufacturer from making BDA drivers with diseqc support. They simply use the IKSPropertySet interface to provide available a method for controlling diseqc. He could also do that for any other modulation he wanted to support.

He'd sell a hell of a lot more cards if had BDA drivers, since his cards would become usable in mainstream apps like GB-PVR.

Quote:Does that mean GBPVR will never be able to support it?.
Not unless he makes BDA drivers.

I thought it would only work with unencrypted broadcasts. What HD channels do you get from Dish with it?

Some people are using multidec plugins to decrypt Dish channels.

Supposidly this will receive all dish HD channels with the right subscription. It is Turbo 8PSK compatible...It'd be really nice if there were support for it

If you want to see it work in the future, the best thing you can do is hassle the manufacturer for BDA drivers.

Has this went anywhere? It has been my experience that support for the Skywalker has been nothing short of condescneding and rude. I'd like ot get it working on gb-pvr so I can road test gb-pvr because I'm not about to buy another capture card when I have this expensive one right here collecting dust.

Unfortunately this device isnt going to work unless the manufacturer starts supplying BDA drivers, like the hundreds of other digital device GB-PVR works with, but it sounds like he isnt going to do that. Pity, because I'm sure he'd sell more devices if he did...
