sub Wrote:What do you mean? When I am connect to the first mvp server my connection can be very unstable even with logging set at error and no flush. Keys will stop responding, the heartbeat signal might not be returned and the usual symptom is that live tv stops playing 10 seconds or so after starting. Soft powering off and connecting immediately to the second instance, it runs like a tank, everything is flawless. Soft powering again, after server 1 resets I get the same power poor performance. I can cycle back and fourth repeating this. This is also reproducable by stopping and starting the GBPVR Recording service. The 5906/8337 connection is always inferior. Martin

Sub did you change anything related to logging with yesterday's pvrx2 from http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=2...ostcount=4 I don't see this problem at all today and I have fully logging with flush enabled for the first time in a while. Whatever the it's great the way it is now and it is nice to have fully logging on again. Oddly enough it is logging on the second pair pair of ports 5907/8338, Martin

sorry for the late test-results... but finally i found the time.
maybe it's because there were some vista-hotfixes lately, maybe it's just the latest mvpmc dongle (i'm using version from Tue Sep 11 17:14:38 EDT 2007) the remote does not stop so often anymore! see my test-runs and logs in the attachment. when it stays like this i can live with it thx for your work for both the dongle and pvrx2 of course! one more question: what is MVPUseAlphaChannel doing? br turas ---
+++ never buy the first version +++

Turas Wrote:see my test-runs and logs in the attachment. Thanks, Turas unfortunately with log flushing enabledI can't typically see the point when the problem occurs. The dilemma is that with logging enabled there are potential problems too, although I have been very lucky with the logs recently and have been able to turn the flush back on. Quote:one more question: what is MVPUseAlphaChannel doing? Sub can add to this but I think it was added to make GBPVR use new Hauppauge OSD update commands, which were added to the dongle a couple of years ago. I doubt if it is used by PVRX2 since on or off the new commands are sent. Martin |
