I didn't realize that this could be done. I'm also from Ottawa, and have gone through the UPS headaches, swearing never again will I use UPS from the US. I'll keep this in mind. Any issues with getting items back across the border once you pick them up?

Pardon me if this is off topic, but it appears to me that the Canada Border Agency that administers the customs duty is in the stone age electronically. Given that the government trusts us to report and pay our income tax electronically (which is generally far more than our GST\PST\customs fees), why can't the CBA institute an electronic system where Canadians can go on-line, report and pay the appropriate fees, receive a number that is given to the shipper which allows the package to cross the border without the use of a customs broker, subject to random audit by the CBA? I have made a suggestion like this to the CBA but if more Canadians would do the same, I think they would listen. Each of the Canadian government departments or agencies like to think that they are on the avant garde of technology and client service awareness.

p.s. I am from Ottawa as well and considering whether I want one of the 3 left but I don't have any in the US that I can ship to.

wrocky, I've never had a problem, customs treat this as cross border shopping and they have accepted my ebay printouts as the invoice. The only "issue" I ever had was when I asked if I was taking out any US currency and I said I hoped that I had 250 million on my Power Ball lottery ticket. The issue was the US customs guy said he had the winner so I wasn't taking out anything.

kayak4ever, I don't disagree that this should be simpler but the fees we pay are brokerage fees and are not CBSA's job. With FedEx air there is no charge and USPS is cheap. The only problem I have with this sale is although they mght be new, they probably won't have any Hauppauge warranty because they are a branded product. I use the UPS Store (previously Mail Boxes Etc) address as the mailing address and they've never even charged for this service.

Got mine in the mail today. It works great! I haven't tried the RF output but everything else works fine, I doubt I would ever use RF out anyway.

Mine arrived yesterday. Works fine, although with a funky orange Helios power up screen.

Also came with a X/O lan cable, and a nice 2' coax cable.
What, me worry?

My friend got the two she ordered. We were starting to wonder, as the seller didn't send any sort of notification about it having been shipped or confirming receipt of payment (she only got the eBay/PayPal auto responses).

The RF output is perfect for her use, as she has cheapie 15" TV's in her office and workout room that don't have even an A/V input. A reasonable price to start with, and saved the $20 for an RF modulator.

This is the first time I've seen these boxes (re-branded MediaMVP's). Has anyone else seen them before?

This does look great. Also, looks like more appeared on ebay now.

I too am in Ottawa, Canada. Would be nice if they shipped here. I also noticed that there are many other people selling MVPs on eBay, and none ship to Canada. Sad

I just ordered one, shipping to a friend who temporarily lives in the states. I'll get it in a couple of months when he gets back home to Sweden. Hope I'll make it work with 240V Smile
