Mpeg 2 Decoders for HDTV

Well, I just found that my 6600gt AGP card is also decoding via Mode A. But it is able to handle the HD content with no problem whatsoever. The difference between the 2 cards is this:

The 6600gt is AGP and uses forceware 94.24. It also has DDR3
The 6600 is PCI-E and uses forceware 164.21 (Or around there) and has DDR

Obviously the 6600gt has a higher core clock as well as higher memory clocks, but I don't think this is an issue as I see no improvement when I overclock the 6600 in my HTPC.

Both are on XP. The AGP card is coupled with a socket 478 P4 @ 2.8ghz
The Pci-E card is coupled with an AMD 3400+ socket 939

The AMD processor is much more powerful than the P4, so that's not the issue. The only think I can think of doing is trying forceware 94.24 in the HTPC and seeing if that solves the problem. If it does, fine. If not then I must settle with the reality that the 6600 just isn't powerful enough to run the decoding algorithm.
