Its hard to tell when they might of appeared. You might need to keep an eye on it to see if you can see a pattern.

ie, do an 'Empty EPG' then an 'Update EPG' then check if there is only one copy in the database. If its all good, leave it over night so the automated update occurs then check again to see if there is still only one copy.

I have both "Complete EPG reload" and "Don't record duplicates" checked.
Attached is my pvrx2.exe.log file after I did a System->Update EPG.

Your problem seems to be caused by this error in your logs:
Quote:2007-10-14 22:36:28.715 WARNING [7] Unexpected error removing old shows from EPG: The database disk image is malformed
database disk image is malformed
It sounds like your database has become corrupt.

Don't know how that could have happened. What specifically is corrupt, and how do I fix it?

The database file gbpvr.db3. I dont have any more specific to go on than the error message above, so cant tell you what exactly is wrong with the file.

I dont know. I've never had this error myself. There maybe some SQLite tools that can fix it, otherwise you'll have to delete the database and setup capture sourcese again.

I see SQLiteSpy has a 'Analyze Database' menu option. I dont know if that'll fix errors it finds though.

I made a copy of the db3 file, then tried to remove each table by right clicking on them and selecting DROP xxx. I get the malformed error on the PROGRAMME_GENRE table. So how do I fix this table? What should it look like? I don't want to lose all of my recordings, timers, etc.

Sorry, I really dont know. I've never had to do this.

I know its not something you want to do, but the only sure-fire set of steps I can provide is to start again from the empty database.

Quote:What should it look like?
You can look in the empty.db3 file to see the definition.

You shouldnt have to loose your recordings if you export your recordings first, then start from an empty database and setup your capture sources then do an 'import recordings'.

Backup your original db file first though.

Did Export Recordings, copied empty.db3 to gbpvr.db3, recreated capture sources, did Import Recordings, set my season timers, database seems fine now because SQLiteSpy "Analyze" option reported no errors.

Wish I knew what caused the PROGRAMME_GENRE table to become broken. Are there plugins that mess with that?

Its a probably as a result of process being killed mid way through updating a record in the database, and even then only because of very unlikely timing.

I think we've only see one other 'database disk image is malformed' error message since SQLite was introduced over a year ago, so not really worth worrying about. You'll probably never see it again.

Make that three now. Just happened to me but on the PROGRAMME table. Oh well...
