So, I ran gbpvr to test things out. Still only have the 150MCE set up, so I can't test the fusion and HD channels.

On a lark, I went into the settings page in gbpvr, and hit the UPDATE EPG button. I noticed in launched the GUI for the mceepg2xml application. I also noticed it launched a dos window. After a a minute or two, I grew suspicious, and opened the DOS window. Once again, it had failed to close upon completing the task. The dos box indicated that downloaded had completed, but the box didn't close, so the GUI couldn't continue. I manually closed the box, and the GUI proceeded to the next step. I think I had to close another dos box or two, but eventually the GUI finished, and then back in gbpvr, it said it was reading the XML file. So, it is working, but why aren't the dos boxes closing?

Other question (still the most important being how to get the fusion card working):
1) It's real nice my MCE remote works with gbpvr (doesn't work with the Fusion Application). But, why doesn' the FF and RW buttons work? I can pause, play, instant replay, record, but not RW or FF. If I pause, I can use the SKIP buttons to skip around. I'm also not sure how you get it back to the live stream (other than PAUSE and then skip forward as much as you can and hit PLAY).

2) When I hit the GUIDE button, it brings up a little gbpvr guide overlay which is cool, but then it also launches my media center guide. Any way to fix that? The RECORDED TV and LIVE TV buttons don't seem to do anything in gbpvr, and do launch MCE live tv or recorded tv... anyway to redirect those?

3) I get the start bar at the bottom, and the blue program bar at the top when running gbpvr. Any way to make it true full screen? I tried right clicking on the program tab, and doing the toggle on top thing, but that obviously isn't it.

Well, somehow, I got the fusion card pointing to the same xm file as the 150mce card in the config. Now the log file has a hash error in it. When I tried mapping digital channels to epg, it didn't find any digital channels in the scan. Help! I can't figure this out!

What does your EPGUpdate.bat look like? It should be located in your devnz\gbpvr folder.

Quote:Should the EPG for the fusion point to the same XML file? I has two provider entries for COMCAST, one has DIGITAL and the other doesn't. So, I set the 150MCE to the non-digital one, and am trying to set the fusion card to the digital one.
The digital lineup should include the non-digital channels on channels 2-99. So you should be able to use just one lineup.

Hey, whurlston, I updated my last post, not sure if you saw the whole thing before replying.

I don't have EGPUpdate.bat in that dir, but I have updateEPG.bat:
Quote:REM !!!!! Please check any entry before this. Ignore if there is nothing!
REM Delete previous lines with MCE2XML_GUI.exe...

cd\
cd .\EPG

"C:\epg\MCE2XML_GUI.exe" auto

This will be something to do with whatever custom UpdateEPG.bat you've created, and the commands you're running from there. Sorry - not much help I know, but this outside of my support scope.

The skip buttons should jump 60 either direction. FF/RW should jump 10 seconds either direction, assuming the 'short skip instead of FF/RW' option is ticked in the config app.

I seem to remember there was a couple of posts in the past were users have solved these problems. Do a forum search. From memory, one way involved using HIP instead, the other involved renaming one of the MCE executables. I havnt personally had this problem so I've never looked into.

Press alt-enter, or untick the 'show in window mode' option in the config app.

I appreciate everyone's help and patience. I'm getting closer. I figured out one problem... any time I hit the DOWNLOAD LISTINGS button in the GUI for mceepg2xmltv, it wipes out my MCE guide. I have to go into MCE and download the guide again.

So, after figuring that out, I set both capture devices to point to comcast digital. And, using the command line with the > log.txt, I was able to generate the XML file. Not sure why I can't do this in the GUI. In the gbpvr config, I have both devices pointing to the same xml files. I update the epg for the 150mce, seems fine.

Now, I updated the epg for the fusion, and the channel list looks just like it does for the MCE. No channels above 100 (I'm getting through 300 now in the log file). I clicked the MAP DIGITAL CHANNELS, and it scans 1-68, but didn't find anything. (I can however, launch Fusion HDTV and watch programs in there).

How do I get the digital channels (above 100) to show up in the EPG list for the fusion card? Posting a new log file.

No I didn't. Easiest way to fix a hash error is to run the Guide Setup in MCE.

sledgeweb Wrote:I don't have EGPUpdate.bat in that dir, but I have updateEPG.bat:
I'm pretty tired right now but that's the file I meant.

After running the guide setup in MCE to get rid of the hash error, edit your UpdateEPG.bat to read:

Code:
@echo off

rem This will download the NON digital lineup and create C:\epg\Output\MD53200-.xml
C:\EPG\MceEpgDownloader MD53200-
c:\EPG\MceEpg2XmlTv

rem This will download the digital lineup and create C:\epg\Output\MD53200X.xml
C:\EPG\MceEpgDownloader MD53200X
c:\EPG\MceEpg2XmlTv

Then point each capture source to the approptiate file. You could eliminate the first run (non digital lineup) and use an include file to only process channels 2-99 on one conversion for the analog tuner but lets make sure we get the basics working first.

What are the functions of the FF/RW buttons suppose to be if you have that option ticked? That is my case right now, and they don't seem to do anything. Just curious. Thanks for the replies.

Well, I already eliminated the non digital lineup. Could you see my new post (two or three back) and log file, and let me know how to edit the BAT file for this setup? Also, any ideas on why my digital channels aren't showing up (also in my post about 3 back).

Just remove or comment the download and conversion lines for the non digital lineup:
Code:
@echo off

rem This will download the digital lineup and create C:\epg\Output\MD53200X.xml
C:\EPG\MceEpgDownloader MD53200X
c:\EPG\MceEpg2XmlTv

As for the digital channels, It looks like you are not scanning the QAM channels (70+). There is a change to the bda.ini that you need to make. I'll see if I can find it.

The bda.ini entry for the Fusion QAM can be found at http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=2...stcount=62
