Definitely only one file and it did it again last night whilst recording Kingdom Sad
(on CH4 again!)

Had a rummage through the logs and whilst there's no evidence of the recording failing, I found......

VERBOSE locked=1 present=1 strength=70 quality=60

at the start of the recording. Normally I see s100 & q100. This might be a signal dropout problem.

I seem to remember there was a record somewhere of the signal strength during a recording but I'm blowed if I can find it.

If Sub's listning, did I dream it?

If <BDACheckSignalStatusDuringRecording> in config.xml is a value greater than zero, then the signal status is checked at that number of seconds during the recording an reported in the GBPVRRecordingService.exe-native.log file.

Aaaaaaaaargh!

Saturday night again Primeval starts recording at 18:30, ER at 19:00. Primeval stops at 19:30 and ER is truncated. Severe beating from WAF:eek:

12 hours later, Recording status shows still recording both programmes and there are no corresponding errors in the logs.

I've checked my signal levels/quality and to prove it's ok, set the monitor to log the signal stats. Primeval's stats start at 18:30, ERs stats start at 19:00. Both stop at 19:30. ERs should continue till 20:00 and the log only shows one recording stopping but that's not true.

See attached logs.

There's also an odd error started showing up in the EPG overnight update which may/may not be related.

Any ideas.

I had the same issue again the other day ... recording one program on BBC1 1 hour long that started at 9pm and recording another program that also starts at 9 on BBC2 but is only 30 minutes long. I kept an eye on the recordings and after the BBC2 program had finished the BBC1 one program still showed as Recording and there is nothing in the logs to indicate otherwise. Sure enough though the BBC1 program had been truncated to 30 minutes.Sad

I should also mention that this has only popped up as a problem since I upgraded to 1.1.5 previously with 99.12 I didn't have the issue.

I didn't have this before either until I moved up to PVRX2.

It wont be related to PVRX2.exe, since recordings occur in the recording service just the same as when you were using GBPVR.exe in the past. Thats not to say there isnt a bug in the recording service in the current release though.

I cant see anything obvious in your logs, but I'd be interested to see if you can reproduce by trying the same type of recordings, ie two hour long recordings, overlapping by half an hour. You can do the test on a shorter duration shows if you prefer, but try to make sure the start/stop/ovelap times are seperated by at least 10 minutes to help make it clear in the logs. Also restart the recording service before you try, so that I have a nice clean set of logs to look at.

I'll set up a couple of recordings tonight and post again tomorrow.
Any idea what might cause the odd error during the 02:00 am EPG update?

I have some ideas, but we'll worry about that after this recording problem.

I also experienced this problem last week. I have a scheduled recording set from 22:00-23:00. I did a quick record of the brit awards from 21:00-23:00 but this recording ended at 22:00.

Sorry I don;t have any logs as I had logging mode set to info only. If I get any useful info I will post here but I just wanted to flag up another nova-t 500 user who has seen this problem

I've had some of that too (single nova-t 500 card) - I'll have a go at getting some logs of the truncated recording problem.

I also occasionally see live tv kicked back to the tv guide when a recording starts on the other tuner - might be related...
