Run it as part of the updateepg.bat?

I have my EWA proxied trough Apache (as I have other servers running and dont want to use a whole plethera of ports which my wife never reminds). This means I have the password on always. Is it enough to get into the logon screen and then close it again. In that case starting EWA from the command line and killing it again would already do the trick. It would just flash the browser screen and close it.

I'm easy with either. I guess service is better for those with lots of grunt (can you tell a service how often to check?) whereas a scheduler could be scheuled to re-occur every day week hour, whatever, for control freaks :-)

Yes...you can have a service use a config file that would allow "control freak" type settings.

YOu wouldn't be starting EWA with a command line.....this would be a new seperate utility that just uses the saved searches that EWA maintains.

Sure as a self respecting programmer you think about a utility to do so which is obviously by far the most elegant solution. Just for the time being (giving you some time to get things done as well) I would invoke a browserwindow starting EWA and closing it agian untill the real solution is there.
