If you can zip and attach the minidump file, I'll see if I can get any details from it about the cause of your crash.

Quote:The recording service log has a number of the following lines repeated; what do they relate to?

2008-01-03 08:56:25.406 VERBOSE [7] RenewLease 2
2008-01-03 08:56:25.406 VERBOSE [7] forcing refresh of next 2 hour events for all capture sources
2008-01-03 08:56:25.406 VERBOSE [7] RenewLease finished (accepted - preview mode)

which it seemed to be doing every 0.5 seconds.
Its normal to get these. It happens while you're watching live tv.

This is the mini dump.

I was going to open it but I don't have the dumpchk installed.

cheers

I'm not sure what is causing the pvrx2 crash but the gbpvr tray app crashed with the following event log.

Any ideas?

No, but as a general observation I've never seen report of the tray app crashing (ever), so maybe this is a sign you've got some machine stability problem? Flaky memory or something similar?

Yes that is a possbility - its a new PC.

I did a memory test (memtest86) on the memory (3 passes all ok).

PVRX2 recorded 4 items last night, all ok (bit stuttery and blocky but I think thats what I was receiving). However when I came to play liveTV this morning I got a blank screen which returned to the menu after about 5s.

Restarting the recording service didn't help but I reselected the playback decoders in the config tool and then I was able to play liveTV.

I looked through the log and found this:

The logs no longer go back that far.

But the attached one does have an error in it.

When it happens again I'll grab all the logs Big Grin

cheers
