if you are running XP, you need .NET 3.0 installed to run EVR.

I have also been getting this error for a few months. The system works fine in VMR9 FSE during normal operation. But, after coming out of standby/hibernation I get this message.

As my graphics card obviously supports VMR9, I have to agree with gED that the graphics card hasn't fully awakened before GBPVR tries to initialize VMR9 on it. If there was a way to delay the reloading of GBPVR a few seconds until the graphics card had finished loading that would be great.

Could something be done with sub's delayedstart.exe app to achieve this do you think? Perhaps with a setting controlled by the confit file to set the delay in seconds?

You could try increasing the <FSERestartDelay> setting in you config.xml. The default is 500ms.

Does the VMR9 error message appear only when the system resumes automatically (like for a scheduled task or recording) or does it also happen when you wake the PC manually by pressing the power button or using the remote? When it resumes automatically Windows assumes the user is not present so leaves the video output switched off until you interact in some way (like move the mouse or press a key). If PVRX2 tries to start while the video is still in standby mode it fails with the VMR9 error.

Have a look at this thread:

Can't speak for everyone else, but I'm using an autoit script to refresh the display even if the computer wakes itself for a recording. So in my case it doesn't make a difference.

Re sub's suggestion - thanks I'll give that a try and see if it fixes it. Anyone else had a go yet?

In my case it happens when I manually wake up the machine. I don't know whether it happens when the machine wakes up automatically, because I'm never there to watch Big Grin

In that case I would try Sub's suggestion of increasing the <FSERestartDelay> setting in you config.xml. Good luck! Smile
