I try to run it, but the config-application and the plugin crashes.

The config application says: "system.io.filenotfoundexception"

When starting GBPVR, it crashes, the log says:

Code:

What could be wrong?

Please check the versions of the following dlls.

CommonGBPVRUtilities.dll I use 3.0.2563.37655
GBPVRBackendCommon.dll, I use 1.0.2873.22917
GBPVRPublic.dll, I use 1.0.2869.10147.

Because the full logs were not posted, I can't determine exactly where the error is occurring. However, it does look very similar to this post by dslowik, that was confirmed to be caused by an older version of CommonGBPVRUtilities.dll.

I added this file to the first post if you need to download it.

ralphy Wrote:iwan, you are correct, the plugin does not show up in the Plugin section of config, nor does it show up in any PVRX2 menu. This is by design. To configure ExternalDisplay, run ExternalDisplayConfig.exe in the gbpvr folder.
Could you please post the complete logs? I can't tell what's causing the errors you've posted.

Allright, found it.
Still no luck trying to run ExternalDisplayConfig, see attached logs.
File names should be pretty self-explanatory, ExternalDisplay Error.txt is what I get when attempting to run ExternalDisplayConfig.

Can you please post the ExternalDisplayConfig.exe.log file since you advise that this is casuing an error. Can you also try to delete the ExternalDisplay.xml file that is in the ExternalDisplay plugins folder before running ExternalDisplayConfig again, and set "extensive logging"?

I note that you are using a Noritake 20045 series. I am not sure if the 7000 series driver include in this plugin will work for your display.

The logs posted suggest that you were trying to use the DebugForm, and that you closed down this form, giving a "Auf das verworfene Objekt kann nicht zugegriffen werden. Objektname: DebugForm."I assume this means "Cannot access a disposed object. Object name: 'DebugForm'."

Is this correct? Do you see anything on the DebugForm, in which case the plugin is working?

Thanks for the fast reply!

I assume I should look for 'ExternalDisplayConfig.exe.log' in the /gbpvr/logs directory - there's no such file.
I did delete the .xml - file, still getting the same error when attempting to start ExternalDisplayConfig.exe

I noticed that the MP - Plugin does support Noritake T-Series VFDs, so thought that your plugin might do the same Wink

Ah - my bad. I am guessing you have both loaded the dll in post #3. That included some code that was not in the original Beta that I had for some unrelated testing, and you don't use c:\program files\gbpvr -hence the io error.

Please try this one dll and config.exe. It hopefully fixed some problems with the VFD drivers.

I hope it does, but can't say!

You're the man - works nicely ! Now I'm in the process of sifting through the .xml file to costumize things ... Wink

BTW, my Noritake Display works perfectly - I took the appropriate .dll out of an MP install. This information might help others in deciding to give your plugin a try.

Another issue - GBPVR froze a couple of minutes ago.

I noticed two small 'property Browser' windows having popped opened in the background. When GBPVR wouldn't respond, I had to kill the process.
Haven't touched the .xml file so far, though I said I would Big Grin.

Fantastic iwan. Great to hear that someone has been able to get the plugin working. I assume that you took an LCDHype Driver from MediaPortal and placed it in the LCDHype folder. I had this as a known limitation ie I couldn't get it to work. Looks like it does work though for you, in which case this plugin should work for even more displays.

This comment and the limited logging suggests that PVRX2 has actually loaded two copies of ExternalDisplay.dll. Have you copied it twice somewhere? For normal operation, users would normally 'uncheck' the PropertyBrowser box in the config. (or set to false in the xml.)

Hi again,
I only get "gibberish" on the Imon VFD display. What about driver for the VFD, is that included in the plugin or do I need to load it somehow? Sorry but I am not sure how this works.
Using the built in Imon support in PVRX2 it seems to load the driver if placed in the gbpvr directory. How about ExternalDisplay?
