Do I understand correctly that you are using the iMON Manager for the remote and key mappings and use LCDSmartie for controlling the VFD?

Yes, all remote action go through iMON Manager (to send keypresses to GBPVR).

For the VFD I set Frontview to "plug-in" mode (from tray via iiMON Utilities->Frontview) and everything is handled via LCDSmartie. Version 5.4 of LCDSmartie has native iMON support but I still use 5.3.2 (with iMON support via an iMONSmartie DLL I found a long time ago) as it has the variable standby message support that I mentioned (and was taken away in 5.4). LCDSmartie can use data from any text file so there is a lot you can display from both outside and inside GBPVR (using GBPVRCli, IMONVFD plugin etc.).

I know this is an older thread but here it goes:

I just got an MCE303 box that came with imon 2x16 display. I plan on using the remote AND the vfd capability. It sounds like if I tinker with the imon config and run lcdsmartie I can get the functionality I want.

My question is, can you configure imon to map different keys to different active software such as hauppauge remote's irremote.ini?

Thanks

With the latest version of the iMon software, yes. You can even configure it to run GB-PVR from the green windows button. I have a profile for PVRx2 if you want it.

Send it that profile my way. I'll be up and running much faster tonight if you do.

Thanks

Here it is. I there are a couple of buttons that I customized but you can look at the commands to see them. Place this file in your "C:\Program Files\Soundgraph\iMon\Preset MCE\" folder (or the appropriate preset folder for you).

In the iMon Manager, set the Application Launcher to launch PVRx2.exe

There was a "Windows Command" button that I had to remove and remap in the "Program Command" window for PVRx2 but I can't remember what it was. That setting will be removed from the PVRx2 config when you load it since it conflicts but you can easilymap it back.

Edit: PVRx2.imo (this is to assist in searches).

Having a world of problems with this remote. First off, I'm not sure if I'm settin imon utils correctly. In the screen settings->remote controller I only get 5 choices:imon rc, rsc, mm, ex, general rc but no MCE

I see MCE in that folder you told me to put the config file in. I think it thinks i'm a imon mm remote whatever that is. However, I don't see a way of selecting MCE. And it's definitely an MCE remote. The driver indicator on the bottom left is receiving my button presses ok.

When I get to gbpvr, only the arrows and enter work.

Got the lcd working with smartie, but I have to brush up on that to accept external files.

imon utilties is NOT a user friendly app. Help....!

Mine uses the MCE preset but that's why I said "the appropriate folder for you". Try placing it in your MM preset folder. Alternatively, in the "Program Command" window, you can "Add Program", select pvrx2.exe (it must be running at the time), and then do an "Import" and select the imo file.

I use the same as boosfuk with hip managing the remote keys and LCD Smartie with some .bats to get recording and pending status on the LCD.
I did try having names of film/song/dvd etc displayed on the LCD but in the end found it a pain. The setup I have is ideal for me as I can quickly findout what is recording/pending without having to go to any menus or interupt what is on the screen.

I can send you my .hip if you want it will save having to reprogram all the keys (the only key combination I couldn't get working was mute).

Alternatively it can be found at

http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=32743

(I think the programming for key 7 may be wrong in this file)

Have Fun
