Very odd, since Live TV in GBPVR works great!

I am guessing Live TV accesses the card differently than recording.

I did try the Hauppauge WinTV app last night and it did not work either so
there's a clue too.

So, I will try uninstalling and reinstalling the card.

Worst case- I move my old 150 card from my old HTPC to the new one.

Thanks for your help Sub.

This is because you have the 'deinterlacing' setting set to 'none' on the misc tab of the config app. This means it doesnt go through the hardware MPEG2 encoder. It is the encoder which is failing to hook up (and required for recordings). If you set the 'deinterlacing' back to the default 'encoder-passthrough' then you'll find live tv doesnt work either.

Yep, thats what I'd expect.

No worries - hopefully you'll get it sorted.

Hi Together,
hi Sub

I have the same problem - since 4 weeks or so. Hadn't the time to fix it till now.

I had 99.5 installed. Everything worked fine all day long. Its a great tool! Then suddenly I had files with 0kb. Some channels are affected some not.

I then installed the new version 1.1.5 over the old one - nothing. I deinstalled the whole application and reinstalled it (1.1.5) - nothing. I then tried to reinstall my card drivers although I had the newest ones already on my system - nothing. Re-register filters – nothing.

I use Win XP and a Terratec Cinergy 1200 DVB-C.

As in davestr case it might has something to do with my system and not with gb-pvr. But on the other hand I checked everything and as said before it happened suddenly. No new software or hardware was installed - despite windows updates.

I post this here just to let you know sub that there is someone else having the same problem as davestr. Logs are attached.

Regards

You dont have the same problem as davestr had above with his analog, but you do get the same outcome (0 byte recordings).

Does live tv work for you? (enable live preview mode in the config app)

Sub, thanks for your quick reply.

Sorry that my answer took that long. I had to go to my basement and pick up my machine (I have no screen and keyboard there).

I normally use your great tool to record and watch stuff only (via the web-interface). I do not use live-tv.

However as said I picked up my machine and tested live tv. Fist and second start I had a black screen. No error messages or anything. I found out that this was due to the fact that live-tv started with a channel that delivers 0kb files.
I started live-tv again via TV-Guide and then pressed watch on a channel i know works. And it did. I can switch to other channels and still no problem. Until I come to a channel which does not work. The screen freezes then with the button-bar (+ /- / etc.) visible.

I attached new log files.

To be honest, I'm not really sure what to suggest. Can you post the logs showing another recording, from the channel you confirmed working with live tv?

Of course, here they are.

I recorded 2-3 minutes and canceled the recording. The file size of this recording is 122.944kb.

Everything looks ok, with no sign of any errors. I'm not sure what to suggest for you.

Sub,

thanks for your help anyway. I really appreciate it!

I will try a little bit more and let you know when I was successful.

Greetings to New Zealand.
