When I try to program it as the instructions say, when I enter the 3 digit code (9??) it does not blink as described and won't program. I also can't figure out where the FF/RW Skip (program search) buttons are.

The remote got sent to the bedroom, where it works good enough for $15.

Did you have this trouble with the 7-in-1 or the 6-in-1? The 7-in-1 home theater mode definitely works for me, as does the learning function (except for the TV device and I mentioned above, which based on the docs, seems to be by design :confusedSmile.

The FF/RW Skip buttons are the two circular arrows under the standard Record and Stop buttons, respectively. I was able to successfully train the DVR device settings to use virtually all the Hauppauge remote buttons.

How can I color the buttons of the 7-in-1 to improve the WAF... she is so accustomed to the colored MCE buttons, I almost have to color them for her.

The ones I am looking at are the lower 4 I believe. I don't have the remote near me at the moment, but I think they are the PIP ones.

The 7 in 1. I'll post the procedure I'm using tomorrow night. Maybe we can figure this out and get it working! I'd love to have all the buttons mapped out right so I don't have to look for those tiny buttons at the top to change the function.

I used 3 Statler fine point permanent markers, but Sharpies should work as well. I had red, green and blue - no yellow Sad - and colored a small round dot to the upper left of the four (well, three) buttons. The uncolored one is assumed yellow. I was careful so it looks pretty good. I suppose with a steady hand you could outline them instead.

I too used the four PIP buttons, though I actually wished I'd have used the four dedicated input buttons as they have no function with in DVR mode, where my PIP buttons could still be programmed to control my TV's PIP features while in DVR mode.

I thought about getting this stuff and coloring the text of the button directly. But I'm not sure it's worth the $15 of stuff to do it.

But I like your idea of using those input buttons instead. My TB has PIP too, so maybe I should leave the PIP buttons in case I decide to set that up.

The 6-in-1, has anybody done a macro on that?

I'm realizing that the book says macro, but with pre-defined key setups.

How can I do a macro with the 7-in-1? The book doesn't mention anything about macros except the "HD Macro"...

I'd like to press a button to change my receiver to VCR1 and the TV input to Input 2. Then another button to change the receiver to TV and the TV input to Input 1.

I just can't seem to find the instructions in the booklet

I still haven't been able to figure it out either. I think we'll need a cable to program it.
