Try the Microsoft DVR-MS mux to see if it helps. It seems to be the best behaved of all the muxes.

Burndvdx2 doesn't support dvr-ms directly. You would have to convert to mpeg first.

and now I've gone full circle!

Burndvdx2 doesn't burn my MPEGS, because they have a timestamp problem - when I retime them they often lose sync.

I can't use another format, as in the end they need to be MPEG to burn to DVD!

ARGH!!!

@philip1982 - try as sub suggests and have a go with the dvr-ms option then transcode to mpeg2.

I use dvr-ms to record and have gbpvr auto-transcode to mpeg2. The latter process uses the Cyberlink mux on my system and the resultant mpeg2 files rarely have any problems. If I record direct to mpeg2 using the Cyberlink mux, however, I regularly have problems with the mpeg2 files glitching. It seems it works better for me on a smooth feed during transcode than when it's trying to cope with a live stream.

Cheers,
Brian

the software that comes with my video card doesn't seem to make recordings with proper timestamps - as they fail too.

Thanks bgowland -I'll give that a go.

so I've set it to do auto-convert - ie changed the drop down box in config. Do I need to do anything else? Can I force it?
