Audio Captions on BBC HD?

Funnily enough, I just had this too. Even an exisitng BBCHD recording suddenly started doing closed captions. Maybe something has changed with the audio streams recently.

That happened with existing recordings to me too, Daniel - which is why I thought it was odd. I'm 99.99% certain that recordings I'd made some time ago didn't have these captions audible when first recorded. Quite bizarre. I've yet to prove that my 'fix' has made the audio go away on live BBC HD - waiting for some actual programs to come on later tonight!

Agghh! This is still happening, even though I changed the tuning request for BBC HD. It seems to only be on recorded programmes, although I can't prove that.

No advice on a fix, sorry, but I do have a few questions...

What card are you using that is able to pick up BBC HD? Also, can you get the new Channel 4 HD service? I'm interested in buying one...

Hi daniver, I'm using the Blackgold 3540 6-in-1 card from http://www.blackgold.tv and no you can't get Channel 4 HD yet, it needs a Sky card at the moment the same as C4, but it's expected to go FTA once the new Freesat service is officially launched, as I understand it.

(I believe there are hacks to allow you to watch the FTV channels using a Sky card with a CI/CAM with some other cards, but this isn't something I've explored in much detail.)

Do a recording on this channel, confirm it has the wrong audio, then post the logs and I'll look at the recording logs.
