It seems that some underlaying code hase changed. With 1.2.13 I have also some randomly crashes while watching tv which I never had before. It seems only happen while watching via sat, never while watching via dvbt.

I'm a little bit busy this time so I can not dig deeper and about starting summer holidays.

Maybe sub will have a look if he got back. I will also do a little bit investigating wenn I will be back and provide logs then.

I hit the same issue once. Same exact error. Attached are the logs from my issue in case it helps to compare.

I've had some random crashes also after the upgrade - but I am using DVB-T.
Seems to be 'surfing' channels using the up/down channel buttons, and I got the 'PVRX2 has encountered an error and needs to close' dialog. Only happened a few times though...
On a new PC I could not use 1.2.13 due to it crashing when trying to scan. On this PC I upgraded to 1.2.13, and I am too chicken to try a rescan, as I think it will crash if I try.

I have the same issue - crashes on the last part of the scan.

Like Pob, I scanned on 1.2.9 then upgraded to get round the problem.

For info I attach the JIT and log files.

Pob may have discovered a fix for this. Others who are experiencing the problem should see http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=35862 and post their results in that thread.

As I'm having the same issue:

Can I just install 1.2.13 over 1.2.9 or should I keep only certain files, like gbpvr.db3 and the like, and copy them back after installing 1.2.13 ?

You don't need to keep any files. It will not overwrite your database but it is always a good idea to create a backup of it as well as config.xml and also recordings-dump.xml. If you have an HDHomeRun, you will need to add the bda.ini entries again after upgrading.

Did you happen to try the method in the post I linked above?

I'm getting this with a Freecom DVB-T (Version 3) USB stick. Gets to the 6th mux of 6 and crashes with Send/Don't Send. Nothing to do with Comskip setting - not using Comskip and tried it both ways.
I was really trying to remap to correct chamged channels (e.g. UK History is now Dave) but no luck.

Two different issues here being mixed up I think.
Unchecking comskip solved the issue I was having, where scanning was not finding any channels at all. This was in v1.2.9, with two different types of Hauppauge tuner.
I was using v1.2.9 because, like you, I could not get 1.2.13 to scan without crashing.
So the TWO current issues some of us are having:
  • 1.2.13 crashes when you try to scan
  • 1.2.9 does not find any channels if comskip is turned on
I posted some logs when I was having the crashing issue, perhaps you could post yours as someone may be able to see the cause?

Had the same problem and reverted to the previous version.

I posted the logs in the following thread.
