Folks,

It's great to see the interest in the Torrents Plugin.

On the Searching Subject, McBainUK and I would be interested to know which Torrent serach sites you use, currently I'd been focusing on the Torrent sites which support direct downloads like The Pirate Bay, rather than search sites like Torrentz.com.

we're planning a release with support for searching MiniNova next.....

I meant that doing a search/start-a-download via the mvp won't be easy, not having a keyboard. Maybe I misunderstood the whole concept, haven't tried it yet.

I have 2 GB-PVR setups - direct connection to a large-screen TV in the front room and an MVP connected to a portable TV in the bedroom. Neither of these have a keyboard.

Searching can be performed using "SMS style" text entry. This is not as quick as a keyboard but works quite well.

Nice, I will give it a try.
PS: The WIKI section "Using the Plugin" is apparantly copied from an other page and needs revision.

I already thought it would be something like that. It's just not my way of doing things I guess. As I said before, I'm not in front of the tv much.
Although it's interesting where all this might lead, some people think torrents are the future for gbpvr. Well, we will see.

Wrt the torrentsites people use: I always use: MiniNova, PirateBay and Isohunt.

Good luck with your project.

Excellent work! This is the first plugin I've seen for GBPVR in a while that is a "must try" for me.

Thanks for the plugin, It looks really nice and a plugin that I would use.

I had one problem during the installation. The package couldn't overwrite the current WizUIhelper.dll (I think it was that file)

The current uTorrent download list doesn't show in the main view
But I can search Piratebay with the plugin.

My uTorrent is installed in c:\uTorrent.
I'm using 1.7.7 stable
I dropped the WebUI zip in the uTorrent dir (also tried unpacking it to the uTorrent dir.)
I'm using IE6 as web browser

Do I have to update uTorrent to lastest beta and IE6 to IE7 ? ....
....to get the plugin to interact with uTorrent?

Perhaps a task image for the plugin
Best Regards

This is great. As another poster mnentioned, torrents are a perfect companion for a DVR. I've had my torrent server running for a couple years on my DVR to pull down hi def versions or stuff from the BBC. With this, I don't have to pull out the keyboard so often to check on it, if I can get it to work.

Unfortunately, I've got a library probably somewhere. The Web interface for utorrent works fine in IE but when I try to access the torrent plugin, PVRX2 crashes (the entire app) with this error:

Code:
2008-06-18 16:27:11.875 ERROR [9] FATAL UNHANDLED EXCEPTION:: System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'file:///C:\Program Files\Devnz\GBPVR\UTorrentLib.dll' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

   at System.Threading._TimerCallback.TimerCallback_Context(Object state)
at System.Threading.ExecutionContext.Run(ExecutionContext executionContext, ContextCallback callback, Object state)
   at System.Threading._TimerCallback.PerformTimerCallback(Object state)

I installed the latest GBPVRUIElements.dll (0.6.1.0) from the wiki since the instructions seemed to indicate it was required although they directions seemed to be from the webcam plugin.

The error calls out the WizUtilities object with I thought was in the WizUIUtils.dll so I'm not sure where to start looking.
