Its on the server.

I didn't want to start a new thread for this so hopefully this gets noticed. If you no longer want to use client mode how do you disable it? I tried just unchecking the box because I recently got an hd homerun and am using that instead on the PC I was previously using as the client but GBPVR is still showing this PC as recording when the one upstairs is. Kind of strange and it appears to be interfering with the HD Homerun.

Its not clear from your description what is happening.

All you have do it untick the client setting on the capture sources tab of the config app though. If that doesnt do it for you, then give a more detailed description of what is or isnt happening.

Ok,

I unchecked the box. But when the previously used server is doing recordings the tray icon on the previous client still turns green as if it's recording. If I show status on it it says it's recording what the PC that was previously the server is recording. When I go into the config and check it it's still unchecked and it's set up for the HD Homerun the channels map correctly but if I hit ok to exit it tells me it's recording and I would be interupting it if I do so. Now that the other PC is not recording it no longer gives me this message. It's like it's still monitoring what the other PC is doing even though it's not set to act as a client anymore. It's also giving me an unhandled exception if I try to ok out of the config. I don't know if that's what you were looking for.

Maybe try replacing config.xml on the client with a copy ofthe config-master-dont-edit-me.xml file. (effectively reseting it back to a clean file)

I have had this a couple of times on my development machine when I had been using it as a client & found a quick reboot of the ex-client machine seems to clear it up...at least it did for me.

My main "playing" machine normally is a client, but sometimes a server when trying out new hardware or tweaks.

What I do is have two whole gbpvr subdirectories and rename them when I want to swap between client and server. I've not been able to pin down which part is stopping just the ticked "client" box from changing functions. I stop the recording service and kill the tray, but it still tries to be a client.

I don't change often enough for it to be a pain.

I think that may have done it. I have been able to get the HDHomerun working again at least. It's kind of hard to say for sure since the other PC isn't doing any recordings at the momment. I did notice however that I only have on tuner operating on the HDHomerun at the moment but if I do a "show status" it shows a "TV1" and "TV2" the other PC is the only one that is using two tuners right now. Does that mean that it's still monitoring the status on that PC? I have not even setup the second tuner on the HDHomerun on this PC yet so the config only shows one tuner.

You have to exit and restart the tray icon app, or it will stay looking at the server. AFAIK it only reads config.xml when it starts.
