Sloooooow channel switching...

I have ASUS Pundit-R with 2,93GHz Celeron D (model 340). 512MB RAM (PC3200) and SATA HDD. Solely dedicated to GBPVR! With WinTV 2k it takes about 1-2 sec to change channel, but in GBPVR in Live-TV it takes about 10 sec to change channel, this is extremely annoying! :-( Also in Config I've using 50ms as Live TV pre buffer. GBPVR version is latest stable (If I'm right version is 2312).

Any suggestions?

i have a very similar setup to you, and have noted the same huge delays when channel changing. i posted something to this effect in another thread (Service Priority). my system is an asus pundit-r, dedicated to gbpvr, with a p4 celeron d 2.66, 512 MB ram (PC3200) and a sata hd. i was experiencing, on average, 10 second delays when channel changing. in task manager, i noticed cpu spikes (to 100% cpu usage) during channel changes, so i took it upon myself to change the priority of the gbpvr app.

at first, i decided to give a higher priority (AboveNormal)...this was even worse. the pc became essentially unusable, and the first (and only) channel change basically froze my computer. so then i tried BelowNormal, and that works much better. when running at BelowNormal priority, i now average about 3 seconds for channel change. per Huw's instructions in the previously mentioned thread, i have a batch file that launches the gbpvr app at BelowNormal priority at startup.

I think Disk I/O is a common bottle neck.... i couldnt even get the LiveTV button to work until I switched the live buffer over to a seperate SCSI disk. Then everything started working better.
