i've heard mention of a wake.cmd but can't find how to implement it..

Yes you can: I use it to re-initialise my Haupp-150 after coming out of hibernation.
From the wiki: http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Manual/BatchFiles

Quote:Wake.cmd

  • if you put this file in your GB-PVR folder, it will be executed after a wake from hibernate/sleep
    • wake.cmd
    • You must also download GBPVRwake.exe and place it in your Startup folder so that it is always running. (Similar to the GBPVRtray.exe)

wake.cmd is just a bat.file mine looks like this:

Code:
cd\
cd "program files\gbrecord"
call gbrecord.bat
cd\
cd "program files\devnz\gbpvr"
call restart.bat
exit

I've read a few of you say that after recording, GBPVR won't put the computer back to sleep immediately. I was surprised to read that. I recently started putting my htpc (winxp) to sleep (after a blown PSU killed my mobo, darn HP d530). I've noticed that if my PC was sleeping (not hibernating) and it is woken up to record, it'll go back to sleep within a couple minutes after recording. Power Options is set to sleep after 45 min. I just thought it was GBPVR that was doing that, but I guess my computer decides to only wake up when it is needed and won't stay awake for 45 min but will go back to sleep immediately.

i think it will go back to sleep immediately if you haven't supplied any user input while it's awake for recording..otherwise user input would re-start the countdown...
remember, GBPVR woke up the computer so it thinks noone is present and puts it back to sleep immediately if no keys are pressed..Smile

Does GBPVR stop windows from going into suspend/hibernate when it wakes up to update the EPG and the update is still in progress?

I have my computer set to go to suspend after 6 minutes of inactivity - this seems to work great for recordings, but I have a feeling when it wakes up to update the EPG it goes to sleep after 6 minutes and it hasn't finished updating the EPG yet (I use the DVB-T stream to get the EPG data). I changed windows to suspend after 20 minutes today to see if that helps, but haven't checked it yet. Anyone else encounter this issue? If I figure it out before a reply-post I'll follow up with my findings.

Side note: Hi, I'm Luke - I just recently started using GBPVR and really like it so far Smile

I'm pretty sure it does.

My reason being: About a week ago, yapi2xml quit working (for everyone); it would just give an error and not close properly, so GBPVR thought it was still running. I didn't know that was happening. The only thing I noticed was that my computer quit going to sleep unless I rebooted it. Today I finally realized what was going on. My computer wouldn't go to sleep while it thought yapi2xml was still running.

Thanks - I haven't had a chance to test it yet myself - but sounds like you are right. I figured out that no matter what I set my DvbEpgHarvestDuration to (tried up to 300) there are still some shows that say "no information" in the EPG.

I checked on my tv (with digital tuner) and the shows are in it's 7-day EPG. I am using the EPG broadcast over DVB-T in Australia. Some of the shows missing are when there are multiple entries in a row with the same name - it seems to miss the names of the repeating entry, but it also misses names of non-repeating shows. Every refresh of the EPG gives the same shows missing their titles (even tried removing the device from GBPVR's config, re-adding it and doing a full EPG refresh of all channels found - still no luck). Anyone have any ideas?

It probably means the app doesnt like something about the way certain shows are packaged in the transport stream generated by your broadcaster. If you have access to a web server, you could make a 1 minute long 'full ts' recording from one of the channels that is missing shows, then make that file available, along with a list of some of the missing shows and I'll run it up in the debugger to find the cause.
