Passing the wife test is impressive. Glad to have another user. I posted a new version on wiki. Backup your old dll first (just in case). [Image: smile.gif]

It supports the optional button rectangle in the skin. I have to as some point customize the blue skin. Right now it is just a copy of the red sky skin.

I still have to take a look at the default sorting.

the main thing in the latest release is my first cut of transcoding support. So I can play divx on my mvp.

I am planning on adding a new panel that hooks into the latest (not posted yet) add reoccurring so you can schedule a show that is not in your EPG yet. Can specify record by title, description, date range, time range, and channel.

Eventually cast, and new episode flag only if zap2it user.

The Panel would allow you to edit, add and remove recording criteria entries.. I hate having to remember to add something when it gets close enough.

Hi Jorm,

Unfortunately I'm still having problems with the newer versions.  I have put the new dll in the plugins directory and the record blue skins folder in the appropriate skins folder but I still cannot get config to see the new record dll plugin.  You suggested forwarding my log files to you. Which ones do you want and how do I find your email address.

TIA

Chris

I got real interested in your Divx transcoding feature. I'd like to burn most of my DVD collection to my HDD, and be able to access them from the MVP. I have a few questions though, I'm fairly new to video processing. What I'd like is as close to original as possible copies of the movies. Not the menus and bonus features, just the movie itself. So I'd like to retain aspect ratio, as well as 5.1 sound if possible. I realize 5.1 sound will not work on the MVP, I'm just thinking of the future.

1) if I have a mivie encoded as 16X9, is it possible to add black bars during transcoding to make it fit the 4X3 aspect ratio of my MVP TV combo.

2) Can I encode 5.1 sound into a Divx format and have ttne transcoding output Mpeg sound for the MVP?

3) what tools do you suggest using for converting to Divx?

I'm currently doing research on some of this stuff at videohelp.com, but there;s a lot of information to go through.

Thanks

Great plugin. I think I am going to make the switch over!
I would like to go through and start adding photos of the various TV shows that I have been recording. What is the ideal size or ratio (width to height) for photos to be added to the art folder? Is there any spedific sites that others go to to get their art?
I checked Amazon.com but there are a number of newer TV shows that they don't have photos for.

Also, I get a rcw error when I try to get disk space information. Any idea what my problem is?

chrisjbzero,

you can send the gbpvr.exe.log to jared_dubin at hotmail.com

Can you also run this command in the gbpvr dir
[dir /s >> c:\structure.dir]

And send me the structure.dir file as well.

Lucas_24,

I really havent played around enough with divx or xvid.  But this is one of the things I was hoping I could accomplish with the divx stuff.  The idea of creating a DVD Jukebox with the mvp would be pretty cool.

I am sure others can help us answer these questions.   I would like to find out the answers myself.  I added the divx stuff for a couple of reasons.

One people said they wanted it and some nice folks were able to send me the command call to transcode.

Second it opens the doors to other possibilities.
    1) Dvd jukeboxes.
    2) Maybe a scheduled app that transcodes shows over 1 month old.

I would also like to find out how big are the divx files for a dvd.

As for the 5.1 sound, the transcoder converts it to mp2 sound.  Which plays on the mvp.

I am not sure how it looks if you try it with the default command line options.  You can search google for vlc and see if there are any options to do it.

The call to vlc should do that.

> 3) what tools do you suggest using for converting to Divx?
Actually I have never converted anything to divx yet. [Image: smile.gif]  I would like to see if vlc has a call to encode to divx.  I can add a hook for that.  So if someone wants to find the command line for me that would be great.

I know some people like diko never tried it yet

Please post what you find.

I need to come up with a good cleanup solution.  To cleanup the transcoded mpeg.  Maybe the version after next.

Diko is used for converting a Divx to mpeg (Divx In Kvcd Out). Kvcd is a non-standard Mpeg I file and Kdvd is a standard Mpeg II file - different intra and quant(?) matrixes,

Cheers,
Colin.

I'd like to switch to the plain list view (i.e. no images) sometimes when browsing the groups.

Is it possible? Cause I can't find where to do that...
Just a setting in the skin file would be good enough.

chrisjbzero, I had the same problem as you until I followed the install instruction and put the fastfind.dll in the gbpvr root directory. Now it works like a charm.

blader_se,

<Advanced active="true" rows="2" columns="4"/>

just set it to false. Is there anything that would make the images more useful for you?
