Okay I set at 16:45 to record a program for 17:00 (Power Rangers)
At 17:12 its still showing pending, and nothing in the recording directory.

I know that another scheduled program does get recorded,

and If I set a program a few hours in advance (I will double check that shortly)

I'll add a reply here. I decided to expand my search into the other logs, and noticed the problem. The pxvr2 could not tell the recording service to reload recording list. The recording list always had this error of port 7967 in use. Doing a netstat -ano showed a non-existent process holding it.

By coincidence I had to reboot the box, and after reboot the recording service didn't have that error in there and the recordings are working fine.

I am not sure why 7967 was locked out - I wonder if it was related to the previous crashes the service has had, and whether one of those was holding it open?

Anyway it works again, thanks

That error typically occurs if the recording service isnt running (whether stopped manually or crashed), or if firewall software on the machine gets in the way.

Maybe.
