Playing music on NMT HD with mvpmcx2

I don't recommend you use option 2 unless you really know what you are doing but you can tell if it is working it you can navigate to your HDX via the Windows Network GUI tools.

If you use either the mvpmc share method or the USB method you can start GBPVR with fewer keystrokes. I've defined gbpvr.cgi as a source which I have documented in a few messages and I can load it with 3 keystrokes,

OK .. So I start Network from the Windoze start bar. I can see the PCH-1000 icon, I click on it .. It asks me for userid (nmt) and password (1234) and then I can see the folders (share)

Is that as expected?

Will play around with the gbpvr.cgi suggestion

That is expected as the default NMT settings so you have to use some of the previously mentioned methods to access it from GBPVR

OK .. sorry for being painful ... I tried defining a new user in Windoze (nmt pw=1234) and setting the Recording Servie as this userid .. no change ..

However I also noticed that the GBPVR (gbpvr.cgi) option in the menu does not work? It gives me a "request cannot be processed"

Sorry I can't help much more, maybe nmt has to be an administrator?, but I don't access my PCH this way. All your problems seem related to Windows shares and permissions, (in this thread and your earlier thread), and I've pretty much offered up all the guidance I can. It will will work, if you do it properly so you are missing something.

Couple of questions that may be unrelated (just tryin out everything I can think of)

SMB and NFS shares .. I need to have my SMB share with the same workgoup name as my windows systems right?

I dont have any NFS shares setup and wondered whether that might affect this?

Sorry no, not having NFS wouldn't impact this and neither should the workgroup.
If you can access everything ok via the Network Browser, you should be able to configure using the share.
