The patch seems to work fine. On my HD QAM, it starts and kind of stutters for a few seconds, then syncs up and plays fine. My MPEG now works on live TV for the first time (it did not work on file share). On DVBS, it works fine for a minute or two, then freezes. This also happens on file share so this is not a new issue. I think my DVBS stream is not really clean, especially when it is going to the client. Is there any way to make it a little more error tolerant? The channels play live fine on the server.

I also still have a couple problems trying to play TS files on a client/server setup, but in my case the playback problems are limited to broadcasts on NBC (ATSC). All other channels play flawlessly, with the exception of occasional timeline issues.

The problems on NBC show up both on Live TV as well as recordings. I know the errors lie in the TS file itself because I generally have problems playing these files on a PCH also. When playing these files from the PC client, the problem is that the video will occasionaly freeze and stop playing. If you hit reverse to skip back 10 seconds, it will sometimes play through the section containing the error the 2nd time around (but you will see a "glitch" in the video even if it continues). Also, when it freezes, It seems like GbPvr still thinks the video is playing on. For example, if you wait about 30 seconds after the freeze and then hit play, it will skip over approximately 30 seconds of the video and continue on. Sometimes it gets in the mode where it will start playing back at 2x speed, then stop for a second or two, and once again paly at 2x speed.

Is anyone else having problems on just a single channel? I have checked the antenna signal and NBC is one of the strongest channels I get. FYI: if I change to DVR-MS, I do not encounter these problems but if I remember correctly, there may be small glitches in the playback.

PS: I also tried streaming TS files with this patch on ATSC broadcasts. It would work every once in awhile if I kept playing with it (pause, play, pause, skip, etc) but was not very reliable. As mentioned above it would stutter for 6 or 7 seconds at the start of LiveTV and then sometimes get straigtned out, sometimes not.

Sorry, nothing changed from my first post with this patch. LiveTV for any ATSC channel from the client will not start, the file gets generated and I can go and play it back through the video library, but not through LiveTV. Logs attached.

Also, just regular playback from network share through gbpvr seems sketchy. I get skips here and there, sometimes the sound would disappear and then reappear and so on. I am not sure if GBPVR is buffering correctly, because every time I have an issue with a file, I immediately try it in WMP and VLC and they both do a fine job with no skips or cutouts.

Just ignoring live tv initially, with it set to use streaming mode, can you play a .ts recording from the Recordings screen? If not, post both the client and server logs and I'll take a look.

Only been on for an hour so far, but UK DVBT seems to be streaming nicely.
Great work, thanks.

I can play .ts recordings from the recordings screen. On my dvbs stuff I have exactly tjb's symptom for live tv of "For example, if you wait about 30 seconds after the freeze and then hit play, it will skip over approximately 30 seconds of the video and continue on"

Stumbled upon this thread but just as an fyi.

laptop client over 54g wi-fi connection.

with patch, playback of .ts via streaming mode is perfect.
live tv, stutters for 20-30secs then plays fine
change channel and it barfs.
