Whick card are you using? It looks like you're using one that doesnt have the required hardware MPEG2 encoder, so you need to install Hauppauge SoftMCE software.

I have an older Hauppauge WinTV-Radio and when I try to install the SoftMCE software it says "Your WinTV model type can not be determined, or appears to be unsupported"

"Debug Info: Last_HW_Model=34132"

When I installed the card it did have some sort of SoftPVR support, but this must be different. Does it just seem like I am out of luck? I know it worked on SageTV or BeyondTV in the past.

GBPVR's config recognizes my card as a Hauppuage HVR-4000

Yeah sorry. GB-PVR just doesnt really support these old cards that had no hardware MPEG2 encoder. A couple of them work with SoftMCE installed, but I dont think I've ever heard of this device working.

I've just found that changing to EVR has fixed the problem too. There's a short delay while it records a portion of the broadcast but where I got blank screen after 8 seconds, I now get paused video that I can restart again. w00t!

It pauses for 8 seconds before going to the screen that shows the recording bar at the top and the program name at the bottom, then the screen goes black and I can't un-pause the recording. Nothing happens, either with the keyboard or using the remote. The only thing I can do is "back" out to the TV guide and start watching the program again.

I've just upgraded from v1.0.16 to v1.3.11 and am experiencing the exact same problem as descrivbed above. I'm not able to change to EVR renderer as my sytem doesn't support it. The TV is recording to the pause buffer and it is possible to play that file but GBPVR no longer seems to be able to access it. Any further suggestions?

Still not solved this one despite having applied all the relevant patches and played with various settings. Not a big deal for me but any suggestions beyond those in the various threads on this issue?

What mux are you using? If you switch the TS Mux, does it help?

I've been using Cyberlink. Changing to the TS Mux doens't alter anything. I have a laptop (Vista) running as a client over a wireless network and this will pause live TV without any problems.

I have now uninstalled and re-installed GBPVR v1.3.11 but again this has not sloved the issues.

Can you post the logs showing the problem with the TS Mux?

Thank you for your help Sub but I believe I have solved this one now and turns out to be a computer related issue. I traced it to a problem with my Live TV Buffer Directory which appears to have become corrupted in some way. Whilst it was accessible on the GBPVR server computer I could not access it from another networked computer. I created a new directory and the problem has disappeared.

All in all GBPVR is still agreat piece of software with incredible support.
