As soon as i get access to the Wiki I will post the setup details.

There is a little bit of config required so i would rather explain it properly than post it straight on the forum.

A little bit more info about the plugin:

- It transcodes using Mencoder or FFMpeg its your choice
- Once the download has completed the transcode starts, however you can watch while it is transcoding
- If your using mencoder you can have a post processing option to improve the playback quality
- The transcoding is done at idle priority so you can watch other recordings etc, while you are downloding and transcoding
- on my machine a 40 minute show takes 10 mins to download and 20-30 mins to transcode, although you can watch real time Smile

yep, access to BBC content is restricted to UK TV licence payers. If you send me the $200 for a 12 month licence via paypal, I will see what I can do..

smiler: I really like the sound of this plugin. I'm like fuzzweed, if you have a fully working HTPC, you shouldn;t need iplayer but there are times when people tell you that "you really should have watched x last night" or when I think, I really shouldn't have played around with gbpvr last night..

I'm pretty sure you don't actually need a TV licence for iplayer. The licence covers broadcast media which the iplayer isn't. I think the UK only thing is more to do with program copyright, distribution and licencing deals etc.

What would be really good is a gplayer attached to the EWA which indexes the recordings of GBPVR users for others to download.........

clearly.
I think that BBC content is restricted to Uk residents (which is what I really meant by licence payers) for several reasons including license restrictions but also enabling the beeb to exploit their ability to advertise outside of the uk and add adverts to their non-uk centric content

I thought it was 30 days for downloaded content.

AFAIK that is right - available to download for 7 days and supposed to erase it after 30 days after downloading.

The only time I really, really needed it (major WAF failure) the recording was on the download list, but never got converted to mp4 or whatever, so wasn't available.

You could label it on the gbpvr menu as the "Oh Shit" button.

This would be fantastic!! Currently I have a link in GBPVR that brings up the Iplayer website but to have it integrated into GBPVR would be amazing!

Am very happy to test if required. Thanks for the development on this.

Another vote for yes. I don't pay much attention to my machine and sometimes we have problems i.e. powercut and then forgot to start machine again = complaints against GBPVR when it wasn't its fault.
If it was all rolled into GBPVr somehow that would be excellent.
