Does the radar still work - it is in Flash now and not Java!

I think it would be better to swap the blue (^B) and yellow (^Y) with the left and right arrow keys. Paging through the days would be easier with the left and right rather than what it does now, switching cities.

wrt the radar (and other 'maps').. would be nice if you had the option to use the current ones.. or a web image or local image of your own selection. Then a guy could build/add whatever he wanted.

( an embarrassing note: I used gbpvr (and the weather app) for a coupla months or so, then upgraded to CommSkin.. for some reason then my tv showed the whole screen from the MVP.. and the yellow and blue buttons. Took my 6 ur old to notice them and play around, showing me that there was more than just a radar map.. :o

am still in the process of familiarising myself with the old source code for the weather plug in, at this stage I am "reasonably" confident i will be able to bring this app in line with whats been talked about here. Will keep you all posted.

I am working on a Weather2 plugin, which gets its data from Accu weather. I have most of it complete, I'm just figuring out how I want the screens to look and how to control them.

I tried looking through the old Weather plugin code, but I liked using the WizTools, so I decided it would be easier to write my own from scratch.

Weather2 currently only supports one location though. Multi-location wasn't big on my to do list.

I'd also like to know if people would like the forecast in a list view, where you could select the day and a popup would give the details. Or the old vertical way, with the icon of the weather for the day, with the high and low temps. I currently have it in list format with a popup, but I don't like the looks of the popup. I'll get some screenshots when I get a chance.

As for maps, for a US location, you can currently get 3 radar maps and 3 satellite infared maps. The views of them are state, regional and national. Canada gets 2 radar and 2 national, regional and national. Then the rest of the world gets a national satellite infared map.

You can currently choose between US units and metric, number of days to show in the forecast list, update frequency, and the number of digits for specific fields (mainly humidity levels).

More details to come when I am ready for some beta testing...

If the 'old' way means no details available at all, then I'd vote for the list view.. having to scroll thru a few days when you just want a 'glance'.. is better than not having any details available at all, I think.

Will you be using a cfg file for the station data ?

In general I like the UI of the weather plugin when it is working.

There is one thing that I dont like and that is the need to use the Yellow and Blue buttons to flip through the maps. It's frustrating when using a remote that doesn't have those keys maps (I never use them). It would be much nicer if it had just used the left/right arrow buttons.

As far as data from Accuweather.

I really like the Quick Look panel on Accuweather since at a glance it shows me Now, Tonight, and Tomorrow.

I also like the hour-by-hour weather forecast.

I like the Past Weather Check panel.

I also like to check their videos for a quick weather broadcast.

In general I think their Radar Center stinks. The exception is the Metro Radar maps which I like pretty well.

As far the maps go I like the Surface maps.

I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Well, the old way had details, but it had a different menu option to get to the details. But I like the list because it gives you a short text description of the forecast, with either the high or low temp, depending on if it is a day or night forecast it is giving.

All config options will be set by the Settings button in config. Then all the settings will be saved in GBPVR's config.xml file.

I'm not sure how much stuff I'm going to put into this. I currently have:
- Current conditions
- Forecast
- Radar and Satellite maps

I'll probably add some surface maps into it as well. I'm open to ideas though, so thanks for this.
