Note - I don't have that router but with mine.....

There are two port numbers involved.
(1) the incoming one that you append to the url like http:/whatever.dyndns.org:1234
(2) the internal port number and IP address of the internal device. As in 7647 by default.

Using the above - An incoming (to the router IP) on port 1234 gets forwarded to port 7647 on the internal device.
When I setup port forwarding I tell it the incoming port number and the ip and port number of the internal destination.

If I understand your original post, you can access from outside your LAN, but not inside.

Your router won't turn back on itself, so myaddress.dyndns.org:7647/gbpvr won't work from your local LAN.

Try http://<computer name>:7647/gbpvr from machines on the same LAN as your gbpvr server. Where <computer name> is the name of your GBPVR server.

Alternatively, http://<server's IP address>:7647/gbpvr will work as well.
GBPVR v1.4.7
Windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit)
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.33 GHz
4 GB RAM, 160GB system drive
640GB recording drive
PVR-500 - analog cable stations
HDHomeRun - ASTC via antenna
nVidia GeForce 8600GT
1 PCH @ 1080p componenent (was NTSC via composite)
1 PCH @ 1080p HDMI (was component)

At the moment I'm forwarding 7647 from the router to mylocalip:7647 so all traffic to the router to port 7647 should get routed directly to mylocalip.

Thanks

Hi Phil,

Your router won't turn back on itself, so myaddress.dyndns.org:7647/gbpvr won't work from your local LAN.

I can access gbpvr EWA on my computer ... which shows it has been installed and is working.

However I cannot access it from another computer from within the same lan
or from outside the lan.

Regards
Alan

Hi,
HtV Wrote:What happens if you use the utorrent port for gbpvr. As you can see, I kind of ran out of decent ideas.

Hans
I set the gbpvr to the same as the utorrent but it still wouldn't connect.

I get the error message
"The operation timed out when attempting to contact myaddress.dyndns.org:9999/gbpvr"

but as soon as changed the gbpvr port back to 7647 and went for myaddress.dyndns.org:9999/gui, utorrent responded immediately.

So although in theory there should be a clear path to gbpvr from the outside world, it appears there isn't!

Does anyone know how to track data hitting port 7647 to make sure something is getting there?

Thanks
Alan

I would look at this part of the problem first...

ACTMS, I think you have a good point here. I was't reading very well, I thought it worked within his lan. But after rereading I realized it only works on his own "localhost".

You should try this...

Once you have it working from inside your LAN (using http://<computer name>:7647/gbpvr), try from outside.

If http://myaddress.dyndns.org:7647/gbpvr doesn't work, try using your router's assigned WAN address. If you've only recently signed up w/ dyndns, the DNS servers you are talking to might not have gotten the message yet.

Just to verify......

You have no problem accessing GBPVR on the local machine via the url http://localhost:xxxx/gbpvr/guide.aspx

You have no problem accessing GBPVR running on the local machine from inside your network (not externally) via either http://machine-name:xxxx/gbpvr/guide.aspx ot http://internal-ip:xxxx/gbpvr/guide.aspx

You can also use guide2.aspx to access the css based screens.
