I did what dennit said. Went into the db with sqlite and changed the existing recordings to reference the new channel instead of the old. Then the remove unreferenced channels worked since the channel actually became unreferenced.

I'm using:
GBPVR 1.4.7
Schedules Direct (also tried mc2xml with Media Center legacy server)
xmltv.exe grabber (also mc2xml.exe)
2 x Hauppauge PVR-500 tuners

I've been struggling with this problem for months and still see no solution. HELP!!!

I guess it all started when the name for SciFi changed to SYFY. All of the time slots began showing "No data available" or whatever. I tried different things to no avail. Best I could do was get the proper name - SYFY - and I could do limited manual recordings on just one tuner.

Today, I finally decided to run ChangeEPGSources.bat to hopefully fix the problem once and for all. Didn't work, though, and now problem is worse, since SYFY is not showing at all, so I cannot record anything on that channel, manual or otherwise.

On the config -> channels tab, it shows "67 SCIFI, Channel Number 0" but no SYFY. In the capture source channel listings, there is neither SCIFI nor SYFY on any channel.

I thought that maybe the problem was with ScheculesDirect data, even though they said it wasn't, so I changed the grabber to mc2xml.exe with the legacy Media Center server and did the whole thing again. Same problem. I would have tried the TitanTV server with mc2xml, but that does not appear to work.

Didn't want to cloud the water, but I have the same problem with ABCFAM on channel 60. I figured if I can fix SYFY, I could fix ABCFAM, too. Seems, though, that I can't fix either.

I would appreciate some help on this, as I don't know what else to do. Should it really be this hard?

In spite of this (little) aggravating problem, I dearly LOVE GBPVR and am very thankful that I found it and decided to use it. Thanks to all.

I just had to do this today so it is fresh.

1 Highlight the station you want to remove in the leftmost column and click remove

2. Repeat for the duplicate new station in the higher numbers

3. Empty guide and update.

If you have any recordings on the station you want to replace you have a bit of work ahead of you. I know you can edit the db but that probably isn't the best way.

Not quite sure what you mean. If you mean the page config -> channels, there is no "Remove" button, just "Remove unreferenced channels". There are no duplicates, only the SCIFI channel I mentioned, and I can't see how that's the problem. I need to get SYFY showing up on channel 67 actually containing listings like it used to do (as SciFi) many moons ago.

On the other hand, if you are talking about the capture source channels, there is neither SciFi, nor SYFY listed anywhere, and channel 67 is not shown at all.

Or, am I missing something?

Thanks for the reply, but I think that you are missing the problem. There is nothing on this screen to remove. I want to ADD syfy and have it show listings.

SchedulesDirect says that the listing data is there. Why can't I get it into the GBPVR guide? I just don't get it.

Very frustrated. Shows coming up to record and no way to do it.

Do an EPG update and compress and upload your logs.

On the Edit Recording Source screen, I was able to add syfy so that it shows up in the guide, but there are no listings, just "no show details".

Didn't know which logs, so I zipped everything from today. Hope you are able to see the problem. I need these channels back. Thanks for the help.

Sorry I can't help further you seem to have several existing channel 67's for both SCIFI and SYFY so sub probably needs to take it from here.

I'd start by deleting all SciFi and SyFy channels from all capture sources, then click the 'remove unreferenced channels in the channel's tab.
