Nova TD Tuner, records but no playback

TS Mux seems to record video but not sound, so have reverted to the MS-DVR-MS setting for now (replay is in correct aspect ratio, where as Live Tv isnt)

If DVR-MS is working fine - just stick with it. I'm sure TS Mux would have been recording both video and sound (and you should hear it in VLC etc), but probably something to do with your selected audio decoder is stopping you getting audio during playback in GBPVR.

Thanks Sub. You are correct, the TS recording in VLC is sound and vision. I have tried various audio decoders with no joy in GBPVR at the moment, but will carry on trying (is there a way to tell which decoder VLC uses?)

VLC has its own decoders built in. They aren't available to other apps.

In my earlier post is a link to the MPV decoder. On the MPV page is a link to the MPA audio decoder. MPV and MPA are known to work with UK Freeview.

Have you tried setting audio renderer to System Default?

Have you tried VMR9 Fullscreen Exclusive for Video Renderer --- this should give the most stable result.

Have you specified a Video Decoder in the Playback tab of config.exe?

Was just about to post a similar question on MPEG playback, I get sound but no pictures on recordings, ok from video library AVI's. So will check this setting 1st.

All appears to be working now. Live TV, recording an palyback. Off to try a few of the other features next!
