I don't know either (obviouslyhttp://forums.gbpvr.com/images/smilies/smile.gif:). However after I clicked OK on the error message live TV came on. I'm unsure of why this happened.

Magcore.dll seems to be from Arcsoft. But may be installed with other software.
This lists some. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?...815AA0w6bx Here's a topic from Arcsoft forums that may help. http://www.arcsoft.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=1429

How do I identify the video decoders resident on this computer and make a change?
2009-09-02, 10:38 PM
You can select the decoders on the 'playback' tab of the config app.

Any suggestion of which decoder to use?
Also ArcSoft has this to say about MagCore.dll: "Pretty sure the simplest workaround for such a situation is to grab the most recent copy of MAGCORE on your system and copy it to a folder that's in the environment path by default like Windows or Windows\system32. "If you're a Windows tinkerer, and would prefer to add an appropriate folder that already contains MAGCORE to the enviroment path that should work two." I'd like to try to place a copy of MagCore.dll in GBPVR's environment path. In what folder should I paste it?

Alternatively, I could take one of the two folders containing MagCore on this PC and make it part of GBPVR's environment path but I would need to be told how to accomplish this.

Environment paths are not specific to GBPVR, they are global for your version of Windows. Just type "change environment path" into Google and there are lots of detailed sets of instructions to choose from. Choose the one for your version of Windows.

I've done what ArcSoft suggested and placed MagCore.dll in my Windows folder. This seems to have been a good fix as GBPVR no longer asks for it when I try to map digital channels to EPG channels. But it's no asking for something new called MagUInter.dll. I thought that moving this file into the Windows folder might also fix the problem but it's not on my computer. Any idea on where I can get this to start the fix?

It sounds like you are trying to use Arcsoft drivers that are not installed correctly or aren't intended for use with 3rd party apps like GBPVR. I'd check config.exe and select another driver wherever you see Arcsoft. If you don't see Arcsoft listed in config, then you are probably calling it by the System Default - so choose another driver. Sub can probably provide better advice on how to set up so it stops calling ArcSoft. |
