Another question, if you dont mind..

In the config.xml, I see a <player> and <mplayer> items.

If Im primarily using the MVP, should I set both of these to vlc ?
(I currently just have <player> set to vlc..)

For the MVP/NMT the <player> setting isn't used at all, the VLC setting is read from the registry. You can change config.xml if you want to use VLC as your primary player on the PC

<mplayer> is needed for playing Real Audio streams on both the PC and MVP/NMT

<vlc> is needed for playing digital radio on the PC.

Ok, thanks Martin.

That might explain why some stations seem to lock up the plugin..
I had no mplayer at the defined path.. I do however have a /Media Player Classic/mplayerc.exe .. Ill try that.

mplayer is linked on the wiki and it is not at all like mpc, so it won't work.

Ok.. i might be dense, but its not too clear which Mplayer to get. I see alot of SVN packages etc.. Im opting for an 'unofficial' windows compile from some .de site. Hopefully this works.. lol

I guess the required files (like this MPlayer) cant be included with the plugin without getting into a whole pile of document work eh..

It's very hard to make recommendations about mplayer it is definitely more a linux tool used extensively with MythTV and XBMC

However for Real Audio, I have success with the older version MPlayer 1.0rc2-4.2.1

Personally I wouldn't set up RealAudio unless I really had too there is often an alternate feed.

I don't want to get into distributing vlc or mplayer, or winamp for that matter they change too often and there are lot of preference issues too. EWA users may have their preferences etc etc.

So far so good.

I think more people should check out this plugin.. amazing selection of audio to be had for sure.

One thing I notice thru the MVP, is a delay in processing a Stop command, or change-station. Similar to Stopping an avi playing etc.. perhaps due to the transcoding delay ?

Is there a way to make that a little snappier ? Ive always had a delay for commands with the MVP.. like scrolling thru menu items.. perhaps a 1/2 second delay.. the delay for a Stop button command with the plugin is more like 3 or 4 seconds.

I know there is sometimes a noticeable delay when the stop is hit on the NMT especially on lower bit rate stations, waiting for the media stop command from GBPVR and I guess the MVP suffers the same problem. I'm going to wait and see what sub does to fix the two live tv show bug and then look into it on the NMT. 128k mp3 streams which are just stream dumps by vlc seem to be stop fastest so I am thinking the problem is in delays stopping transcoding.

Thanks for the feedback.

For me it showed the north eastern part of the Netherlands. If I recall well, the nearest stations were on top of the list.

I still seem to have some streams that seem to lock up my router when I play them from the MVP. Traffic stops thru the router (both house pc's stop being able to nav to the router, and the MVP is hung on the plugin screen w/o any audio).

I find a partial mp3 clip in the c:/temp, but when I play it with winamp it sounds like chipmunks (wrong rate ?). Log files still show plenty of errors with ExternalRecorder.ExternalRecorderConfig. Uburecordingservice is Started in services.

Also a few skin errors not finding mmc.xml .. the closest match I could find was in the Mayhem skins as skin-mmc.xml , so I tried copying that over to Community-SD.. didnt seem to help.

When I play the same station at the pc end, it plays fine.. but control of PVRx2 is lost. Cant esc or nav out of the screen. Have to kill the process (close GBPVR and kill VLC ).
