Thanks for checking this out. What do imagine might be the cause of this? And did you try pausing and then continuing? I find every video jumps forward ten seconds or so on resuming.

To be honest, I'm dont know. Reproduce the problem, and post the pvrx2.exe.log and pvrx2.exe-native.log, and a short summary description of what happened, and I'll see if there is anything funny in the directshow filters being used.

Yes, I did try this.

Just to chip in (rather unhelpfully) to say that I've had this too. I've not put effort into working out how often, if it's reproducable etc. It annoys the wife more than me so I guess I should look into it. Next time she's out I'll have a go at consistently reproducing this. Mine is DVB-S .ts recordings (might also happen off DVB-T but rarely record from the Irish channels).

I am aware this can happen on still recording .ts files, but it shouldnt happen on completed recordings.

It's still happening on all SD files - should I try switching to MPEG (I have the ATI encoder loaded)?

I'd add that the main problem is skipping back while a file is playing: it actually skips forward - which is annoying.

For me, I've discovered that for .ts recordings made by GBPVR and sometimes for DVD playback, when I pause and play, it skips forward and doesn't play back from where it paused. Also skipping backwards (there are two skip buttons, one a couple of secs and one around 10 secs - cant remember what they're called or what values I've got in the config! Skip and rewind??) - the smaller skip, always jumps forwards.

I think it has something to do with my WD green drive head park and the interuption to the ts stream when skipping/pausing as I'm fairly sure it never used to do this before I got this drive...

I can't see why the drive type should make a difference: it either delivers the data or it doesn't. It happens here too and I'm using a Samsung drive. I'm fairly certain it's a bug - and I don't think it happened before 1.4.7...but don't quote me. Smile

I am just wondering if anyone found a solution to this issue as I have similar issues to liteswap's. Though thanks liteswap, as I didn't realise my HD recordings could skip back until reading your post. Smile

My SD recordings skip forward when using << rather than rewinding. The amount skipped forward seems to vary depending on the particular SD channel being recorded. However unlike liteswap, if I repeatedly press << it locks up the entire system and I have to do a hard reboot.

However, I have just worked out that I can rewind using the |< command, so to keep the wife happy I could try remapping keys if there isn't another solution known.

Also like liteswap I have issues when pausing, however it is with both SD & HD. SD skips ahead 15 seconds, but HD also skips ahead but only 3 or 4 seconds (seemingly channel dependent). This skip forward also happens when exiting from a recording and later resuming.

The files are also existing .ts files recorded with 1.4.7

I don't know if this is relevant but I noticed the time skipped forward or back is different with different recordings however the recordings from each particular channel seem to skip the same amount.

Another late chime-in here.
ts recordings "short skip" back, actually goes forward, for me, also. My crappy solution was to map the "short skip" as the "long skip" on my programmable remote. Also, ts SD recordings tend to get audio/video unsynchronized on long recordings, which can be fixed by pausing. None of these problems occur on my system with dvr-ms recordings. But the downsides of dvr-ms (no live tv on client, can't watch in-progress recordings) outweigh the positives.
For HD, everything is wonderful, and works perfectly.
