cat 10.1 is out now...hoping it solves this issue...

the .inf looks very different...pretty generic, no sub_id's....
will report back if it works...

grr...nope..same..

i have the 650 ati card from diamond. My problem is my live TV motion is not 100% smooth . It was even worst to start with but Sub told me to download the codec from this website http://www.free-codecs.com/download/MPV_Decoder.htm .it improved a lot but i still get a little slow down. Can you post what video codec you are using? my feed is analog cable. pc is running win xp home.

thankss

well that depends on what video card you're using...i use ati so i use ati codec or ffdshow.
what os also? vista/7 are very different from xp.
in win7 with ati 4650 i use ati or cyberlink or ffdshow w/vmr9fse.
in xp i use ati or ffdshow on atihd3450.

[ffdshow tryouts beta6 specifically w/nv12 colorspace output *only* and interlacing underneath it checked]

I got it all screwed up again. Can't watch simultaneously analog and cable. I downloaded the 10.1 drivers, but it is still using the old driver from 9.12. I don't think they updated it. Also my friend downloaded catalyst 10.1 for windows 7 64 bit and his 2600xt drivers failed to load. I found that they included 2 drivers in the pack and only one worked with his cards how strange is that.

Something is wrong with the config when I manually add fixed cable channel (analog) in epg it does not show/update the channel list. Is this stuff in a editable file?

I have schedules direct, I've edited my channel line up to only download the ones that I want or for some reason all the atsc channels seemed to get enabled somehow (is this a bug). I can't bash free software LOL, but learning how not to screw things up has been a challenge Smile

Edit: Got second card but have not installed it yet, want to work the bugs out of the current setup. Need to better understand how gb-pvr sets up the channels

Digital channels need the 'map digital channels to epg channels' step or they're auto-disabled when you ok out of the config app.

I fixed the multiple tuner problem the 11/3/2009 drivers don't work you need 9/23/2008 drivers unified stream drivers, now I can record atsc and watch analog. Might be a bad on ATI or compatibility with gb-pvr. But all is good now.

Seems that the 11/3/2009 drivers where working until I downloaded 10.1. I wonder if ATI made changes to the them but did not change the revision.

Scanning QAM off of cable now, it's going to be a challenge to map these and get a tv guide for them. I wonder how gb-pvr handles channels that are the same but on multiple tuners.

as long as they have same epg source data it'll treat them as spillover...

what driver version is that? i don't even see a driver for this card that's that old..
9/23/08?

where can i get that driver?

yep, it's the drivers...i got it working for both with cat 8.11 unified vista driver also...

actually, i don't think there's any difference between the vista and win7 drivers for this card..
i can't think of any new features in win7 for capture that it might need that aren't in vista too..

and that stupid new 'install manager' thing is a joke..oh, more software to install software...wee..useless and annoying when you need to run different versions..
just skip the installer and find the .msi and run that..whether for avivo or whatever..
for drivers, just use device manager and update the driver by browsing to the .inf...

their website is also whacked, i click on 'previous versions' and it takes me to the usb card drivers for vista, no matter what card or os i was viewing at the time...so can't even find the older versions easily..
and what's the difference between the "Theater 650 pro pcie" and "theater 650 pro series" drivers? or why are there 2 names?
there is only 1 650 pcie and it's a combo..that's it..
all 600 are software encode and single tuner..the 650 pci is single tuner also..[weird]
there is no combo pci, nor 650 pci that has dual tuners..
there is a v1 and v2 but they are both combo...[4 diff hardware version actually, all combos]

well, thanx for the info...Big Grin
now that i know its driver issue, i'll see what the best way to do it is, or what the cause is..and latest drv ver that works..

cuz the win7 drivers out of the box just don't cut it..
[and go figure it's the same cat ver 8.11 that is the best driver for display drivers in xp also..they must have had a big bonus coming or something that xmas...lol]
almost all the cat 8.11 drivers are golden..Big Grin

and as suspected, 8.11 drivers work for both tuners in XP as well...Big Grin

and 8.11 drivers can be found on the diamond cd that came with my card..
i can't find them anywhere online tho, or anything near that old..

picture quality is great for analog...and adjustable if you install the ati TV control panel tweaker..Wink
[digital pq, as always, is great.. duh]
