The AL460 spec doesn't state that the AAC files it plays are HE-AAC.

The A-200 certainly looks like a handy and versatile media player. I can't find it in NZ on Price Spy or some of the NZ on-line retailers that I'm familiar with. Looking at it's US$ price I'll make a guess that it might be nearly twice the price of the Apacer once it's got into the country, but considering the extra features, it would be worth considering if it can be sourced here. I think that a big issue is simply finding out that these devices work for our DVB-T recordings.

I'll take your word for it. The 'WD TV Live' definitely doesnt though. I've tried it myself.

Popcorn hour is only available from popcornhour.com as I don't think it's in general release yet, but limited batch runs.

How noisy is that fan? would you want it in a bedroom?

I've tried it in the bedroom for a couple of nights. Its definitely audible across the room when its quiet.

You can however press power+delete when you're finished using it, and it'll go into a shutdown like mode, which also stops the fan (and HDD if you've got one).

ok, so I think I'm still interested. might remove the harddrive this time round, that spinning up is annoying enough.

Yeah, I didnt bother with a hard drive in my A-100, and cant see any reason I'd need one with the A-200. I'd rather just use a network share for watching my media.
