And here is an MPeG-2 native log that works:

That all looks pretty normal. If you run the tv walker application first (then shut it before recording), does it record sound correctly?

I'm wondering if something is not being initialized correctly.

Just tried what you suggested and the audio didn't record.

I launched the TV Walker software, recorded a MPEG-4 Divx recording, and then had GBPVR record a DIVX recording. TV Walker correctly recorded with an MPEG Audio Stream and DIVX video. GBPVR Recorded with Divx Video but no audio.

You've definitly got an MPEG1 Layer II audio decoder on your machine?

Yep.

I can play MPEG1 Layer II audio files fine on the computer I'm playing them on. I can send you one of the files that is not working, and when you bring it up in Graphedit or play it in Zoomplayer and view the Graph, you'll see that it can't find an audio stream. I just need a place to upload it, as I don't think you want these files being sent to the support email box. [Image: smile.gif]

If you have a graph you want me to run on the recording machine let me know. If you can send me a graph file I can bring it up in graphedit and test it out.

Maybe, GBPVR is not writing the AVI header correctly?[Image: rock.gif]

Is there a way to check this out?

I dont have write anything to the AVI file myself. All the bytes that are written to the file are supplied by the drivers. I just basically connect up all the directshow filters then step out of the way.

I've currently got my TV Walker plugged in, and I'm investigating it as we speak.

You could download and run dbgview from sysinternals con for the few seconds when you start the recording, then email the log to me at support@devnz.com.

This will contain all of the lifeview debug messages generated by the drivers.

I got it working!!! I was having the same problem with audio, so I examined KingArgyles log(and mine) and noticed that the audio encoding was being done with the InterVideo codec. I went to GraphEdit and built a graph using the same filters, and it would not work, giving me exactly the same results as in GB-PVR. I replaced the InterVideo filter with the HT MPEG encoder, and with the MPEG Layer-3 filter, and they both worked. I unregistered the InterVideo codec using:

regsvr32 /u C:\Progra~1\InterVideo\Common\bin\iviaenc.ax

and then the GB-PVR software was forced to use the HT MPEG filter, producing very playable audio. Note that I got better results using the MPEG Layer-3 coded...

I know this isn't the proper way to correct the problem, but at least we have an idea now.....
