If you haven't played any files since then can I also see what is in /tmp/dumpts.txt on the PCH?

Already rebooted and playing that recording now. Next time it happens, I can also include that in the putty log.

I'm not sure it is related but on the preceding file the NMT ran into problems, junk or bad timeline in the file before give up and starting over.
Code: 20:59:11 Handle Ping During that period NPVR was getting junk too and it might have left either mvpmcx2 or NPVR in a bad state. Code: 2010-11-02 21:59:40.727 [DEBUG][3] Raw PTS received:-1970409776 Martin

Martin,
I'm not exactly sure about the "problem" that you noticed. But, if I recall correctly, the recording that I had just watched before trying to play "The Defenders" was an episode of "NCIS" which "changed channels" at the end. By "changed channels at the end", I mean a situation which I have been noticing on several recordings for at least the last 2 releases of NPVR where the post-padding time on a recording has programming from a different channel. I think that in this particular case, the main recording was of "NCIS" which came from the cable clear QAM channel for our CBS affiliate (channel 4). But then the last couple of minutes of the recording, it switched to content from "Glee" from our FOX affiliate (channel 9). I'm pretty sure that all of these were recorded from one of the HDHR tuners. - Brett

Yes that would screw up mvpmcx2 but I am bumping this in case sub didn't see Brett's message. I think it is pretty important if the multirec is swapping channels when new shows start up.

I'm definitely seeing the problem with changing channels during a recording. I've got several examples.

I cant see how that could possibly happen, and havnt see other reports. Are you using an analog device?
2010-11-04, 12:55 AM
Definitely no analog devices. All cable, clear QAM. I've got 4 tuners--1 HDHR giving 2 and 1 AverMedia A188C PCIe Pure ATSC card giving 2. Generally, the HDHR tuners are the ones being used.
I'm presuming that copies of the actual recordings showing the behavior would not be of use to you. And, unfortunately, I've got a backlog of shows that I am watching so by the time that I watch a show and find the problem, the nrecord.log file is already gone. I can make a special effort to check recent recordings and get logs from one of these occurrances. Is there anything else that you would need?

Next time it happens post the nrecord.log and i'll take a look.
