First, it's a lot easier if you just put all the logs in one zip file.

Second, you still haven't posted any NPVR log that shows an attempt to watch live tv or play a recording. The .1, .2, .3 logs are prior logs - the current logs are just named NRecord.log and NPVR.Log. Please try to watch live tv and play a recording, then post both .log files (or just zip the whole log directory and post it).

By the way, I do see this error in your NPVR logs:
Code:
2010-11-05 06:39:31.859    [ERROR][1]    Error initialising Direct3D: SlimDX.Direct3D9.Direct3DX9NotFoundException: Direct3DX 9 was not found. Please install the latest DirectX end-user redistributable package from Microsoft. ---> System.Runtime.InteropServices.SEHException: External component has thrown an exception.

   at NextPVR.Utility.Direct3DHelper..ctor(IntPtr windowHandle, Int32 width, Int32 height)
   at NextPVR.ControllerForm.Form1_Load(Object sender, EventArgs e)
2010-11-05 06:39:31.859    [INFO][1]    Continuing with Direct3D disabled
I've never been sure whether this is a real problem, as I've seen logs with this error from people who said their video playback was working fine. However I certainly don't get this error.

Have you installed the DirectX9 update linked in the sticky thread?

Yes and no. As far as i understood this, direct3d is only used for the npvr menu itself. Rendering the letters and scrollbars. It could be a problem, if someone has a weak singlecore cpu, because all the work wouldn't be done on the gpu anymore; the cpu had to render the graphics. But sub mentioned in another thread, that this message in the log could appear too, if someone accesses his pc via remoteconnection.
You like nPVR? Then please help pay the bills, and keep the project alive!

I still cant see an attempt to view live tv in those logs.

Start the application, click TV Guide, then double click a show, then click 'play', then zip and attach "npvr.log" and "nrecord.log".

It looks like a case of not having selected your decoders on the Decoders setting screen. With no decoders you'll get no audio and no video.

I've established that I can record successfully, but that just emphasises your point above as there is no sound. Video is now fine.
The question is, which decoder do I use?
My on-board sound is AC97 and this works fine in Windows/Windows Media with films recorded using GBPVR, but otherwise I've no idea which one to choose.
Advice welcomed.
Thanks.

Ah, right. Yes, on second look, I can see you have a video decoder. You need to select audio decoders though.

Which ones have you got? Most audio decoders work fine, so just select something and give it a go.
